Thanks for sharing! I just sent you a PM as I have a buff hunt coming up in September. I have 300gr TSX shooting pretty well but I'd prefer if I could get my hands on TBBCs for that hunt instead.
With Qatar airways being a bit unreasonable about not allowing people to travel with firearms when they book Qatar flights through American Airline's website (or other OneWorld carrier's websites), I'm wondering if there is a way to ship my rifle instead of taking it as checked baggage. I...
I have both a 300WM Ridgeline and a 300NM MPR. Both bought a few years ago during a lot of complaints from people. I may have gotten lucky as both shoot great. The 300WM shots .5-.75" groups with Federal 300WM and 215 bergers. The 300NM shoots similar groups with some older ABM Berger 230 ammo I...
My biggest problem is that it makes it too easy to justify buying another barrel to add on another caliber. Thought I'd only want 3 barrels, I'm up to 6 now.
Wait to try out a Thunderbeast 375 Magnus, possibly even with the 'brake' (RR version). My SOT got in early and ordered both the Magnus S-RR and Magnus K-RR for demos with an ETA middle of this month.
I already have a R8 threaded barrel in 375 H&H to put it on. Got that barrel 3 weeks ago and...
Sadly no way to do those upgrades with AA miles or systemwides (can only do system wides on BA flights, not Qatar).
My first trip, 2 years ago, was on BA and at the last minute I had to bail on taking my own rifle due to BA changing their conditions about a week before. I had approval to travel...
ugh, not good to hear. What's most annoying is that (a) their reasons kept changing and they kept referring to their policies on their website (none of which have this requirement) and (b) they said this has always been the policy but they cannot explain why there were no issues last year when I...
Never found a travel agent that would deal with booking of award/mileage tickets. If you know one that would, I'd be happy to have their contact information.
Has anyone else booked travel this year on Qatar using miles from American?
I had done this last year and had no issues with submitting my rifle and ammunition information to Qatar to obtain their approval to travel with a firearm. Same situation where I used American miles to book Qatar...
I haven't been able to find any deals since 2021. For me now its more of staying on top of finding Qatar flights bookable with miles. Been lucky with that so far but I'm sure luck will run out soon (or miles will)
Your post made me look again. For my flights in June and September it's non-QSuite between DOH & JNB. Did you mean to say it looks like all DOH-JNB flights are not QSuite?
The flights are on an A350 and have seats in 1-2-1 config, but not in QSuites setup. Probably this setup on them:
USAA was ridiculously high cost for the dollar amount of coverage. I believe their limit in my state for the firearms value included in homeowner insurance was something like $5-10k. Trying to get that to $50k of coverage would have cost more than 6 years premiums I pay for Eastern and I have...
