My absolute favorite bullet of all times. I can’t speak for the Weatherby as I don’t care for Weatherby mags ( not saying there is anything wrong with them just a preference thing) but..... out of my 308s, 30-06, and 300WM the 165 TTSX is amazing. I’ve killed everything from whitetail, mule deer, and hogs to the ________(fill in the blank here) exotics. Between myself, my kids, guides, and clients this is probably the most common and without a doubt most effective bullet I have experience with and the TTSX is the only hunting bullet I load anymore.
That bullet out of my .300wm has killed over 17 plains game animals up to and including eland. In the states the biggest was a Kentucky Elk. Great bullet and if it shoots accurately out of your gun use it for everything.
I used the 168 grain bullet in a 30-06 to take eight animals in Namibia. Smallest was a springbok, largest were two kudu and a zebra. None went more than a couple/few paces.
In a 300WSM used it to take zebra, waterbuck, warthog, springbok, diker, all one shot kills and it is very accurate in my R93 where it really dislikes 180gr bullets of any make. But that said I don’t need any heavier weight the way the 165ttsx works.
So far only used the Barnes 165TTSX out of my 300 WM on two animals. A Texas Dall a little over 200+ yards and a coyote at 18+ yards. Both at Gizmo’s. I switched to it after good success with the 150 Barnes TTSX in my 30-06. It will be used for antelope, mule deer and elk this year if I draw tags.
This is all my dad uses in his .30-06 Remington Semi Auto rifle . Taken more white tails with that bullet than l ever did with my .22 Savage High - Power , my .375 H&H or my 10 gauge Browning .
I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
