I am not too recoil sensitive but going on my first DG Safari I wanted to be prepared. After speaking with many experienced hunters and a few consultants I decided on Ruger Hawkeye African in .375 Ruger. With the muzzle brake on it is not too bad but I sent the stock off to Edwards Recoil Reducer to have their product installed. After getting it back and breaking it in I am truely amazed at the performance. As you can see in the video it just does not kick! Some people may not even believe it is a .375! Try an Edwards recoil reducer and see what you think. May be the best $150 I've spent in a long time!
Regards,
Philip

Definitely no muzzle flip.

Do you have any before video? That would be really interesting.

No unfortunately I dont. I know when I take the muzzle brake off I'll get a bit more but it is really incredible.

That will be the true tale, without the brake. When I had a brake on my .375 H&H the recoil was about like my .30/06. After I got used to the recoil I've never out the brake back on, and never will. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I got the brake as it served a great training purpose for me personally.

If the gun still doesn't flip at all after the brake is off then that reducer either really helps, the gun fit is perfect for you, or both.

Be careful with that .375 though, it will lead you places.... :)

I installed recoil reducers in 3 of my shotguns, my .375 RUM, and in my .300 Weatherby. Some of the reducers were mercury, the others are mechanical. At least one was an Edwards. I can't remember which reducer is in what gun, but they all helped to reduce both recoil and muzzle jump.

One of my field shotguns is a 12 gauge Rem 870 with a Rem plastic stock. Every year about a month before bird season opens I take this shotgun to the skeet range and shoot at least one box of shells through it every week. Even with target loads, it would bruise my cheek after only 10 or so shots, and I would coming off the stock too soon after the shot and not following through. Since I installed a recoil reducer in that gun, it has not bruised my cheek at all, even after shooting multiple boxes of shells, and now I have no problem staying on the gun for the follow through.

thanks looks good . says up to .458 so asked them about if it would work with a .500 jeff.

Cant hurt, or at least im sure it would hurt less. lol

I wonder if they can ship these to Canada? or if our ridiculous gun part import laws would prevent that? (seeing as something like this is so dangerous)

Tell them it is a piston for your pogo stick! :A Pump:

Packaged as an inertial dampner they would be perfectly legal but packaged as a recoil reducer will probably kill the deal, simple verbage that complicates the world.

@Philip Glass whats the difference between the edwards reducer and a mercury one? and does it have to be installed by them? cheers mike
Edwards is far better and proven. It is best to send the stock to them to install and cost is very little. It can be installed yourself but depends on the gun on how hard it is. Try it. It really works.

I cant figure out why you would want to reduce the recoil of a 375? I sold my 375 because it didn't have enough recoil! :P Devil:

+1 Great to deal with. I purchased custom rifle. No issues.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary

Booked with Harold Grinde - Gana River - they sure kill some good ones - who'd you get set up with?
