I wanted to buy a box... I cannot find a single box for sale online... are they in high demand or discontinued?

Federal still lists the Hydro’s on their website. I grabbed a couple boxes around the first of the year as they were on sale at Midway but I haven’t seen any online lately.

I have had a similar problem trying to find the 300gr TBBC Tipped for an upcoming hunt in October. They were on sale this summer, I should have snagged a couple of boxes. I gave up and am working up a load of both solids and expanding Peregrine 300gr bullets.

Maybe a call to Federal and ask the status? Could be they only do a yearly run of them like Winchester does with some of the less common calibers.

Had the same problem before hippo hunt on the Bear Claws. Bought last boxes at a couple of places.

I ordered 10 box of A frames last year when they came available. Seems every time I need them they are sold out!

They sure must be proud of those @$170/box 20! But they are available for shipment...
Yeah, I noticed they were a little expensive.
Figure the bullet should at least field dress and quarter the game for that price.

I just contacted Federal Premium Ammunition about production of 375H&H 300gr Woodleigh Hydros.
This was the response I received.

Good Morning

We haven’t shipped that items since March 2018 – that went to Grice Wholesale

Currently we do not have that on the schedule for production.

Thank you

In short, they haven't made it in a year and don't plan on it.
I'm looking for a friend with a loader.

Not exactly what you are looking for, but Norma has 375 H&H in Woodleigh FMJ and Weldcore soft in 350g.

Thanks for the follow-up
I bet they let all of the calibers sell out
cheers

I looked on Hendershot's website and for the 375 H&H, all the Woodleigh bullet options were unavailable. I wondering if this has anything to do with Trump's tariffs and trade war with the rest of the world.

Looks like it's reloading time gents. Midway has the 375 Hydros available for a little over $3.00ea. The batch runs of "odd" calibers leads to this same situation almost every year and across every brand of manufactured ammo. Besides that reloading ammo that you will be using on game is almost as much fun as hunting itself.

I get it, I should reload...I know.
I don't have time for reloading, I have time to pull out my wallet and pay someone for their time.

I consider time my most precious commodity, and at this point in my life I'd rather spend it shooting instead of reloading.
I'm sure sometime in the future (when I'm retired) when I have more time I'll pick up reloading.
For now I'm at the mercy of suppliers.

Guess your not shooting woodleigh hydros then.

I have four kids, run a company with 40 employees, am fire chief of my local town Dept. You make time for what you care about and I can reload when I get up at 5 am or if I am up late at night.

I do it for the exact reason you are going through. Big bore not quantity high quality ammo. Takes no more than two hours to load total time to load 40-60 big bore shells. I have time to save that money.

Get into it.

high demand.

I just got off the phone with Federal Ammo about the Cape-Shok 375 H&H Mag 300gr Woodleigh Hydro's (P375WH).
They will start production in mid-June.
I have been told it's due to the low demand of the product and that they currently have only 36 cases of it ordered.

Currently MidwayUSA is showing "no backorder" for this item, but I did confirm that they have an order placed with Federal.

Great information!I will keep an eye out for them this Summer
Thanks
Damn it, I knew I should have kept this information to myself. ;)

Hello there. I’ve been wanting to introduce myself personally & chat with you about hunting Nilgai. Give me a call sometime…

Best,

+1 Great to deal with. I purchased custom rifle. No issues.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary

Booked with Harold Grinde - Gana River - they sure kill some good ones - who'd you get set up with?
