The saga continues.
I feel for you guys in the US.

The USFWS has a God Complex that is out of control... ran impotently by democrats and antis (or those that listen to them - which are just as bad). It will only be a very short matter of time before we will not be able to import at least 3 of the big 5 and very possibly 4. I am so glad I am booking a lion hunt this next year. I usually make an honest attempt not to degrade our government or their agencies, but lately, I find it impossible not to. If we all just sit idly by and do not voice our concerns or our own knowledge, then shame on us for letting them stomp over the top of us.

It's a shame that people, who want to supposedly do the right thing for animals do so many wrong things. I blame the media for taking over the world and brainwashing people 24/7 on cable TV. I also blame the school systems.

You're so right enysse. This is a SOCIETAL problem, not a (or not just a) political one. If anyone thinks this gets better once the democrats aren't in power they are fooling themselves.

I can't agree more with your statement Royal27;)(y)

I think the quote from the old Inuit guy on Shokey's Uncharted show regarding Polar Bear hunting was "they are educated wrong".

So what is the soonest they might get any importation ban in place?

That education quote was awesome....

And so true, Ugh.....

I think I've read 2016, but who knows? And in my limited opinion I'll bet that an outright ban doesn't happen, not at first. Our government, and the bureaucrats, are pretty good at taking away things a little at a time so that people don't notice and then it seems OK.

You know, just like Obamacare!

What I understand is it will be 2016 before CITIES bans lion hunting... If they do. My concern is that USFW bans imports prior to that, like the elephant saga. Makes no sense at all to close fenced RSA lion hunting but I think they indicated an intention to ban all lion hunting because of difficulty differeciating where a lion was taken... Which seems like total BS!

My immiediate concern is how quickly USFW may be able to move to enact a rule.

Bob, i am thinking the Lion hunting ban will be soon, just like the Elephant hunting ban. They will have it in place, prior to the main safari season starting. This will leave the Lion hunters in the same spot that the Elephant hunter were in earlier this year. That was one reason why many have stated that if you want to hunt a lion, you needed to do it sooner, rather than later.

Maybe April... Plus they will be backdating it to a January ban ... making any hunters that has gone prior to their action, go through the court system to bring a lion trophy's back. (that is if you can afford the court costs) This goes with the plan to shut down the canned Lion hunting in South Africa. The anti's believe the land owner/farmers will continue to raise lions and everything will be Hunky Dorie or fine. Like i have indicated earlier in other forum postings, the You Tube posting of these so call lion hunts, are doing more damage than good. You know the You Tube clips where the lion is staggers around (usually under some drug) and the client is urge to shoot the marinading beast.

The Lines Jerome posted, were the ones that i indicated earlier would be the closing of lion hunting for US hunters.

The United States Fish & Game have not relied on scientific facts, so make people think that they will soon. Unless the department is gutted and replaced by persons that hunt and or fish, the current situation will not change.

I agree with all the previous statements listed here. The industry is clearly under attack from all directions and we need to all ban together and do what we can, while we still can. I, for one, am writing a letter this week. (Didn't mean to turn it into just a one-sided political view as that is clearly not the case).

I think it is a society problem for sure. But Obama is not going to change anyone in the USFWS unless someone wants to resign. I hear all the time in the public and about people hating trophy hunters. They are all brain washed into thinking people only hunt for their skin and horns....not the meat or any other reason. If those same ignorant people saw the thousands of dollars people pay to conserve animals and keep people employed maybe some of them would have a different tune. And I honestly think people need to understand the concept : if it pays it stays, just like they teach in math class 2 + 2 = 4. This is a simple understandable concept.

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
