Just read where Larry Ellison is moving the headquarters of Oracle to Austin. Elon Musk has already moved to Texas and has threatened to move Tesla. Numerous other high tech California companies have made the move or are considering moving to Texas.
Austin is already a very liberal city.
Sadly so many Californians have moved to Colorado and already destroyed the original conservative culture. I’m afraid for Texas that the same may happen in my birth state!

We're seeing it here in Nevada, too. The liberal sewer sludge is oozing over the hills in increasing numbers and attempting to subvert our rural conservative lifestyle. There was an attempt at a blm protest a few months ago but they were met with armed citizens and outnumbered by 10 to 1. Tucked their tails and went home. Haven't heard a peep from any of that trash since.

When I heard Oracle was moving to TX on the news, that was my first thought and told my wife: TX will be going blue.
Although I’m not familiar with the TX political scene, I would imagine it will go the way of numerous states: liberal cities and conservative countryside.

You know, after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, the War Department assessed the situation. They found that if the Japanese invaded the West Coast, the military wouldn’t be able to stop their eastward advance until they got to Chicago. Are we beyond this point with the eastern migration and invasion of the left wing liberals from the West Coast? Please, all strategists chime in before it’s too late!

Disclaimer for recent “new” members: I’m being metaphorical. We don’t have potential (?) foreign “hot” invasions anymore. We do have a continuing migration eastward from the west coast of a liberal thinking populous that have ruined the quality of life from whence they came, and are bound and determined to think, live and vote the same way which destroyed their utopian lives on the west coast. I know, because I grew up in sunny, smoggy, traffic and people gridlocked, anti gun and pro ANY taxes So. Cal! I escaped from there in 1989 to Colorado and now almost EVERYTHING I detested THERE is HERE! I know this thread is about Texas, but hell, they’ve already made it to at least Georgia!

Hey Oxford the cat,at what point does everything we talk about on this forum become endangered by the liberal left! Wake up this is a totally appropriate forum to discuss such things!!!

I'm not American. And am in a country where Democrats would be on the furthest right of the political parties.

I fail to see what this has to do with African hunting, or why its not in the 'Politics' thread.

This thread is well within the general purview of the General Chat subforum. Relax! Tonight I inventoried all my handgun ammo, did 3 loads of laundry, made breakfast arrangements for Saturday morning at a new diner with friends, dinner arrangements at my younger brother's house for Sunday (good bourbon more than likely and bison liver on the menu), and am enjoying the end of a bottle of EH Taylor Small Batch this evening.
Your concerns are misplaced, and not relevant. General chat is pretty much "size fits all" or everything goes here.

Politics and hunting are closely intertwined......when a US State goes liberal Left, importation of African trophies is threatened. THAT is a big deal for Texas. Not only an appropriate topic, but critical to hunting in Africa. We want to bring our trophies back. And that is in addition to the eventual outlawing of bear baiting, hound hunting, mtn lion hunting in this country that follow the blue. Lastly, the ANC, emboldened by the Snowflake win in the USA will push their African land theft agenda, which effectively ends hunting on the property as anything that moves gets eaten. No, liberalism is the greatest threat to hunting. If someone doesn't want to discuss it.....read a different thread..................FWB

Liberal logic: "California has turned to a shithole and I have deemed it unlivable...now I am going to move to Texas and vote the same way I did in California."

Idaho is getting them too. It is scary.

At least one member of the Austin city council is an avowed Socialist. The liberal Austin mayor posts pix of his family vacations in other countries when the USA is on "lock down". There was a movement afoot to throw out the entire liberal city council, but it must have failed. Too bad.

The technology age has made in possible for many people to work wherever they choose. That was not so in the industrial age. Fewer and fewer people are connected to the land including farming and ranching and of course, hunting, fishing, guns and shooting, etc. It's a new and changing world, baby, and it sure as hell, ain't goin' back.

OxfordTheCat, sorry if I offended you. Not my intention. Please ignore my thread.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
