Hello fellow hunters and forum members,
Glad to be able to create this post after a very challenging 2020 with Covid shutting down our livelihoods in a matter of weeks..... We have been blessed to be busy since January 2021 and have been constantly hunting throughout. If all goes well we are looking forward to busy 2021 season and I will keep posting pictures of our travels and trophies we take on this thread.
This was from our first safari in Cameroon in January with a great friend and forum member.
Ready to board our flight to Garoua....
Some of the landscape you can expect to encounter when you hunt Cameroon with JKO Hunting Safaris.
First day we had to get some camp meat and this nice Western Kob makes for some fine dining...
Early in the season we have to burn the tall grass to be able to track and see animals when hunting.
Typical Lord Derby country...!
Here Kevin shows how high these Eland actually break branches to get to those green leaves... When hunting Lord Derby Eland you are not always looking for only tracks but also freshly broken branches like this one!
After a long walk tracking eland we could not catch up to it is always nice to have a soft comfortable seat, this is provided by the trackers!
Beautiful Red Flanked Duiker we took while on our way back to camp, we saw them daily but when this one made his appearance we had to get him in the salt.
Except for Western Kob we also serve freshly caught Capitaine which is the best fresh water fish you will ever have in your life....
Here is another stunner of a Western Kob and Bohor Reedbuck we took.
After a lot of tracking and getting close to herds of Eland, Kevin made a great shot on this beautiful Lord Derby Eland. Hunting these Lord Derby Eland is never easy and they always move in big herds so getting in close enough for a shot is always very challenging.
