On top of the hunting offer.

To summarize the various added benefits of this GROUP HUNT all into one post to make it easier for everyones consideration.

@The Artistry of Wildlife is offering a discount on Taxidermy for the group.
  • ANYONE on the hunt gets $100 off any shoulder mount or $250 off any Life-size.
  • The shipments of raws skins can be imported as consolidated shipments and create further savings.

@gizmo Top of Texas Taxidermy is offering a discount on Taxidermy for Group Members
  • If it will help get some folks going on this hunt I will sweeten the deal. I’ll give 10% off of final taxidermy ticket if you use Top of Texas Taxidermy.

@TROPHY SHIPPERS is discounting their Customs Clearance

Next order of business is to find someone that is excellent at filming hunts to come along and also create an offer for Group Hunt Members.

Maruis knows my situation and wish list for this hunt. Will just need to see if I need to send him a deposit or if I get a refund after this September’s trip. Guess will see if I have him keep my suitcase in long term storage.

Sounds good to me.

I am sure he can tarp up your suitcase and leave it in a blind to wait for your next arrival.

September is coming soon.

Have you gotten around to loading any of those cases yet?

No, not yet. April and May constitute about 25% of the real work I do in a year, so I am still catching my breath. I hope to be able to get started on some load soon.

Funny how making a living gets in the way like that.

I'm on it.

With all my allure and star power :ROFLMAO: enquiring minds want to know. (imply and gossip)

Shockingly, not all that time will be with the AH Group Hunt.

I'll most certainly see some friends in Gauteng and deliver a belated wedding present and see how their new life together is going.

For an adventure I might just join Sonia at Travel & Ride Africa.
Sonia is one of my friends from PH school that has gone on to create her own tourism business. Nothing better for you horse lovers.

Those five days in between at KMG are going to be used to do some hunting all on my lonesome. Likely, Spot and Stalk bow hunting.
Do you think it will be an advantage to have scouted for 10 days beforehand?:sneaky:

One thing for certain, I am looking forward to meeting and hunting with the group members and enjoying this new experience.
Already there has been chatter in this thread about a Rhino. Even the thought of being in on that one, in any capacity, is exciting.

A really big deal for me is doing some more study and taking the examination for the Ordinances in the EC to earn my PH license in that province. Which I may do before this AH Group Hunt. The "sponsorship" from KMG to do this will be the reward.

For now, lets just enjoy the planning and dreaming! :A Banana:

If this touring outfit isnt a sponsor on here i dont think its right to be promoting one. Plenty of outfitters offer this and its not fair to them who has paid to be on this site. I did a quick search and couldnt find them on here. If they are and in wrong then sry but this looks to be promoting a non sponsored outfit. Its on thing just to list there name but this is full out websites and everything on how to get ahold of them what they offer etc.

@BRICKBURN ,

What is the updated hunter list for both dates now?

I think I am going to keep it pretty simple, Leupold VX5 1-5x with a illuminated ret.

That will work, Yancy. What bullets are you thinking of using? As long as you know your trajectory out to at least 200 yards. Remember that you will be shooting across valleys, so just wanted to make sure that you know what to prepare for. All the best with the preparations, sir.

I am going to start with 350 grain TSX, looks like it you can get close to 2600fps. If I can, that would have me at -5 at 200 and -9 at 250. But I will bringing something much more suitable for plains game, this is just for backing up @BRICKBURN on the Buf hunt you are going to talk him in to.

I like your thinking! :D

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.

Have twice tried to post something that your site canned as "SPAM" or some problem.. "Contact the Administrator"... Not sure why even the "Contact" button would not send my comment so you only received my query but not the content in question. I'll see if I can get it to you this way... NOPE I use a VPN and perhaps that is causing me grief...
