I have an opportunity to purchase this rifle for 11,000. Us.Its practically brand new with a nice steel carry box. The 308 barrel is scoped. Is the 416 Rigby a good charge stopper such as the .458 round?

Agree doubles designed for rimmed cartridges.I would not buy a double rifle in these calibers. 500/416 NE and 7x65R would be better choices.
Place the first shot correctly and you need not concern yourself with charge stopping. In the right hands the 416 can stop anything but it is not ideal for stopping buff or elephant when things get very close. It is a great lion stopping round.
