Well, after 50+ years of living in suburban Detroit, I've decided to move.....to Lexington, KY. My company had a position open, and I went and interviewed last week and I've decided to accept their offer. I start on 11/23.
The wife will remain here until she can secure a position and we can put our house up for sale; lots of things to do between now and then. I probably won't be on AH as frequently as I have in the past, but will check in from time to time.
Our daughter currently resides near Columbia, SC, and after the recent floods, she is ready to relocate as well, so in a couple of weeks we are all headed to the Lexington area to look around and check out neighborhoods, schools (our daughter is a teacher), what the area has to offer, etc.
Personally, I've had it with Michigan, Detroit, and the hospital that I work at......time for a fresh start, I guess. Unfortunately, I'll have to push my safari plans back a couple of more years, but any good is worth waiting for, right?;)
Wish me luck!!!:)

There are all sorts of adventures and none more so than turning a major chapter in life. Very best wishes!

My best wishes as well!

Hope the move goes well.

All the best with all the changes taking place.

Good luck with the relocation! Kentucky has some awesome whitetail and elk hunting ... and you are at least 30 minutes closer to Atlanta and the connecting flight to Jo'burg :-)!

I hope all goes well and that you and your family enjoy the new chapter!

Regards

Get ready for some culture shock going from Detroit to Lexington, Ky.

Good luck on the new job and the move, I am sure that you will love the new area.

16 KY is a great place to live.

Good luck, KY is a beautiful state, big whitetails , and elk ,if you can draw a elk tag. Forrest

Happy Trails!

Can't blame you for wanting to get shed of Detroit. I'm sure you will enjoy the Bluegrass state.... Good BBQ too!!!

Good luck, the whole dry county thing in Kentucky was a shock to my Montana liver but once I learned my way around that I enjoyed KY! Knob Creek machine gun shoot is a pretty cool event to attend. hurry up and get everything sorted out, your posts are enjoyed!
Cheers,
Cody

Good luck in Lexington.
That will be a change from Michigan for sure.

Personally wouldn't be sorry to leave the winters behind . . . best of luck, and if you can find a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle, have a drink for us!

All the best !

Good luck and best wishes. After all a change is as good as a holiday;)

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.

Have twice tried to post something that your site canned as "SPAM" or some problem.. "Contact the Administrator"... Not sure why even the "Contact" button would not send my comment so you only received my query but not the content in question. I'll see if I can get it to you this way... NOPE I use a VPN and perhaps that is causing me grief...
