I recently returned from Namibia, completing an 8-day plains game hunt with @Jamy Traut Hunting Safaris. Hunting Africa has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and Jamy's operation made the dream a reality that was even better than I had imagined. Before even arriving, the customer service I experienced was excellent. In spite of helping her husband run their farm, Jamy's operations manager, Kirsten Lotter, answered my emails in great detail and made sure I was always informed and prepared every step of the way. As a busy undergraduate student and first-timer to hunt in Namibia, Kirsten was an asset in helping me through the planning and booking process. Upon arrival to Namibia, my Dad and I hunted the Panorama property, a beautiful and expansive area. The food and accomodation were excellent. We enjoyed some of the best meals we've had in months, all the while Jamy and his staff treated us like family. We were able to take Zebra, Blue Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Red Hartebeest, Springbok, and Gemsbok on this hunt. The game was abundant, but was all very wild and made for a satisfying and rewarding hunt. My Dad, who predominantly archery hunts elk and mule deer in the Utah mountains, wasn't disappointed with the challenging stalks. Our PH was Barend, of Hartland Hunting, (please see my review of him as he's phenomenal!), who ensured we had the right animal in our sights and got us in to comfortable shooting distances for ethical kills every time we pulled the trigger. Even though I'm a rookie in African hunting, I would recommend Jamy's operation to anyone wanting to hunt Namibia for their first or fiftieth time. There's a reason why he has so many clients coming back to hunt with him at any of their concessions across Namibia. Please see attached a few photos of some of the game we took, but shoot Jamy an email and put your next hunt together!
