Hello

I'm after some help. These are ridiculously expensive in the UK so I'm trying to recreate them. I have the necessary constituent components but I'm struggling to work out what powder/weight is used. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Also in the U.K., so following this with interest. What velocity does Norma put on the box? Might just be a process of elimination to replicate them with say Reloaded 15 which is available here.

I'm not actually sure - I'll have a look. That said, I've never had any faith in the speeds cited on boxes and always found them on the high side when I've chrono'd them. I will at some point chrono a couple of rounds to help inform my loading decisions. I would rather like a VV 140/150 solution (although VV loading data doesn't go above 300grn so that may be the victory of optimism over reality) to the powder question but frankly, I'll go with whatever seems to work.

Oh, that is brilliant - thank you Krish. I don't have the Woodleigh manual.

Hi,

About the velocity printed in boxes, in my experience, NORMA, and RWS as well, are pretty accurate. And are, usually maximum safe velocities! Even, in some cases, the measured velocites are somewhat higher than the printed ones...

Best!

They have the values (velocity) on their website:

I have only fired three of the Norma 350gr rounds. Their chronograph average was 2260fps in my Winchester M70-24" barrel.

That's really helpful - thanks.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.
