We experienced several buffalo charges this year (most of them cows) and because of practicing - and by Grace! - our practising drills kicked in with the results of opponents ended up dead at our feet. In the heat of the moment when the adrenaline is flowing, there's no time to think what to do; then it's time for your muscle memory to kick in!
After many charges, when looking back, one can not recall when you flipped your safe, it happened spontanously. If you don't practise it, the chance that you'll forget a simple thing like that, can end up in disaster!
