Chamber extension and regulation complete.
One flyer in regulation group from 45 yards on a windy Texas day. Ammo is North Fork 350 SS.

Work underway on replacing scope mount with custom QD mount and filing express sights to match regulation.
Looking forward to project completion and to shooting "new" big bore rifle. Will have pix then.

I bet you are excited to get your double back from Arron. He does such good work.

Yes he does and I never try to rush him.

I am eager to chronograph my 350 SS loads out of those 26 inch barrels. My rough "back of the envelope" calculations predict a muzzle velocity around 2300 fps and that is about what a hot 45-90 load should be; that is 200 fps faster than the Buffalo Bore 45-70 350 grain loads which are advertised to be 2150 fps.

Exciting to see this when finished, should be awesome !

BOOM at the 100 yard range today!

My son had not fired the rifle before and his first shot was a flyer, BUT his second shot was in the 10 ring ( that is good for gun, ammo, and the first time shooter) but the recoil bruised his hand and he gave the rifle to me.

Comparing the regulation shots at 50 yards with the 100 yard bullseye, I consider the gun to be very accurate and deadly to 125 yards with no holdover or under. Nicely flat shooting .458 350 SS bullets. I have not measured the velocity yet, but the the load book said between 2200 and 2300 fps. From the recoil, tend to believe the book.

Though it is a big boomer, I will take it to our planned exotic ranch cull hunt next Saturday.
Also taking my kills- all Model 70 .308 FWT.

Thank you and just wait until you see it in the sunlight!

That linoleum flooring at the sellers does not provide the best background.
here is a partial picture taken in good light when it first was delivered to a gun shop for me.

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
