Rhodesia/Zimbabwe Loses A Bit More History & Tradition

Nothing new under the sun. My wife told my 20 year old son that as he was getting absolutely wound up by the social media accounts of the rioting. Wise words from a wise woman. She said Moses led the Israelites out of slavery and bondage, and yet while the journey to a new free life was still in its infancy, these same people were reveling, revolting, rioting and saying they needed to return. They said they were better off as slaves in Egypt. She told him him to get off that social media crap. Think for yourself. Form your own opinions, listen to your own feelings, look at the facts and decide for yourself. If all men and women are indeed created equal, then your opinion is just that, your own. Others have opinions, but they are no greater or lesser than your own. Just one persons opinion. My 2 cents, but I am glad I married her 32 years ago. I would be much smarter if I listened to her more often.

I had a similar situation with my four 18-21 year olds. Ironically, my wife of 32 years told them basically the same thing (must say something for the era our wives were raised). My oldest son simply said - I don’t pay attention to the crap on social media about the riots and protests and I am a lot happier.

The youth of today need to be reminded to think for themselves and don’t just jump on the bandwagon with a bunch of malcontents because it is the “flavor of the day”.

This! +1

My son was about 14 when he asked me one day how to get a balanced view of what's going on in the world. I was quite proud of him for that. He said he watched the usual CNN, BBC, MSNBC etc... I told him to watch FOX News for more balanced and realistic reporting. Also pointed him to the likes of Ben Shapiro etc...

I also make a point of saying the following to him every time I drop him off with his buddies or he goes out: "be a leader, not a follower! Make good decisions" ... it seems to work for the most part. Kids need guidance but ultimately they have to think for themselves and be accountable for their own actions. This is sadly lacking in the world today.

They are opposed to "white privilege"--which is what the rest of the world calls civilization. I am tired of whites being vilified for slavery--in the Americas, more than four fifths of the slave trade went SOUTH of what is now the United States. Most of it was carried on by the Portuguese in Brazil and elsewhere. The Portuguese got a head start on everyone in 1452 with a Papal Bull from the Catholic pope giving them exclusive rights to perpetual slaving of "black gentiles", that is , non Muslim sub-saharan blacks. When is the last time you saw the Portuguese stigmatized, marched on, or demanded reparations since they themselves are people of color? But the end all be all of slaving activity has always been the undisputed champs--the Muslims...slaving for 1400 plus years in East Africa, North Africa, white slavery on the Mediterranean, and into the European and slavic lands. Killers of non combatants, conquerors of vast lands, rapists, boy rapists, pederists, oppressors of non-muslims under dhimmi laws. Exterminators of 13 million middle eastern christians under Tamerlane alone. Why in the hell would I feel guilty about the civilizing activities of my forebears who were head and shoulders above all these other mental rocks in treatment and elevation of people and culture AS COMPARED TO THE AFORE MENTIONED. Are we destined to let the ruffians take down civilization as a whole? Hell, they actually might just need thinning out by real justice.

Major Khan........you are absolutely right. Those who think this is "just a little more of the same" are foolish or naive. We have given up the rule of law, and changes will be profound. Think Kristallnacht, or The Bolshiveks: Thanks for your perspective..................FW Bill

Slavery is mentioned in the Old Testament. It was practiced by African tribes from one end of the continent to the other (and still is practiced in some areas, it seems) long before white men ever found Africa. Arab traders were involved in slave trading in Africa long before white people ever got there. Native American tribes practised slavery long before Europeans ever visited North America. Vikings practised slavery in every area they conquered.

My point is not to say that white people are not guilty of the crime of slavery. Of course we are. My point is that it did not start with white people, nor did it start with Christians. There is plenty of guilt to go around.

All of our efforts would be better expended in making the world a better, more equitable place for everyone and less time looking in the rear view mirror trying to decide who was the worst of a bad lot.

You are right in historical analysis--but history will forget you when the anarchists win and erase it. We are not dealing with people who want to be reasonable or find compromising ground. And I myself do not wish to compromise to the point it rids us of the constitution or persecutes Christianity. But the point is--it is our country and some things are just not up to majority vote. Some lines drawn in the sand require for them to die or me to die. I am willing--they just think they are. The pictures of mobs kicking lone innocents in the head during recent riots should be replaced by pictures of cretins afraid to stick their heads out lest they get shot like score of their compadres.

By the way, we DO all realize that this is election related, right? They know that if Trump is re-elected, their dreams are shelved for a while. They are ruthless. We must be too.

About the slavery. ..in West African region it was the Africans capturing other Africans to sell in the slave markets on the coast....any whites trying to go inland from the coast tended to catch diseases that killed them ....African tribes have raided for slaves to keep and sell for centuries. ..east Africa mostly Arabs and locals doing the raiding. ...how it was.....same as the other examples posted here.....can't change history. ...oh shit sorry forgot the left wing are doing that already

This entire fiasco is about power! It has morphed from racist cops to a racist government to a racist health care system. It’s the socialists wanting everything for free paid for by the people who work for a living (capitalists) in this country. As time goes on, the people will hopefully realize this and Vote accordingly. If it weren’t for the capitalists paying for all of the government assistance for the slugs refusing to work, what then?

On July 15, 2017, Justine Damond - a white Australian American woman - was shot dead ("unarmed and barefoot" in her pyjamas) by a Mohamed Noor, a black Minneapolis police office. Justine had NO police record, and neither was she a drug abuser. She called 911 because she belived someone was being raped in the alley next to her home. Two police officers attended to investigate.

At the trial it transpired that both attending police officers had their body cameras switched off, and after securing the area, they admitted being spooked by a loud noise - just as Justine approached the drivers' side door. She was shot dead by Noor.

After the shooting, the Chief of Police still continued her holiday. And at trial the defense argued acquittal on all charges due to insufficient evidence!!

Noor was eventually jailed for 12.5yrs, but the Somali-American Police Association had the temerity to state that Noor's conviction was based on racial bias against him!!

The public outrage of Damond's murder amounted to a few hundred holding a vigil, then holding a demonstration march finishing with a memorial service. There was no viral "White Lives Matter" protest for Justine. By comparison, her murder didn't even raise a blip on the radar!!

But apparently, if you're black, apprehended by a white police officer, have an extensive criminal record and have drugs in your system................!!

Food for thought:
https://www.facebook.com/OzraeliAviYemini2020/posts/3120749214674052

And, (IMO) ever ready to exploit a situation, all the SJW's and Aboriginal Rights groups in Oz are now jumping on the band wagon - not to protest the death of Floyd - but to rail against the government and promote their own agendas!!

Bloody hell!! COVID-19 and now this BS!! I only hope international travel resumes soon, so we can all go back to hunting!! o_O

I am an proud Aboriginal man and what has happened in our country is history. We all know that history is the PAST. We can't blame our forebears for what happened. It was part of the times.
Yes it has affected us But our goal should be to learn from history or we will repeat it.
The aim of all humanity should be to accept the past happened, work on peacefully changing the future. And be ACCEPTING OF ALL PEOPLE, TOLLERANT OF DIFFERENCES, WORKING TO BETTER THE WORLD OUR ANCESTERS LEFT US.
In the past we hunted using different methods like using live bait be it animal or human. Does that make it wrong. Yes by today's standards but no because that was part of the times.
As humans we learn from mistakes slowly but we do learn. We have an obligation to treat each other with care compassion and empathy.
If we are unwilling to do that we can't expect the same in return.
WAKE UP WORLD BECOME HUMAN.
just my rave

I 100 % agree , Spike T . Look at the recent George Floyd murder ... As an example . What Derek Chauvin did , was disgusting . How ever , he has been apprehended now. The negroes who are rioting now ... Have absolutely ZERO justification to loot and vandalize the businesses of innocent Caucasian people , who have absolutely NOTHING to do with George Floyd’s murder .

The fact that they are still vandalizing other people’s property ... Shows you what the TRUE nature of these people , really is . Those “ Rioters “ are nothing , but a bunch of thieves and thugs ... Who are politicizing a tragic murder ... To further their own agendas , and benefit themselves . And when these store owners arm themselves fo protection against these hooligans ... Their decide to play victim and call them “ Racists “ .

I genuinely am contemptuous of social media ( Such as face book & twitter ) . They give a platform to these lying thugs to spread their false lies , ever where . And these lies are believed by the millions of sheep , who are their followers . People who have NO academic qualifications , whatsoever ... Can suddenly pretend to be massive intellectuals , by posting a bunch of leftist garbage .
@Major Khan
My dear friend
The looting and violence is absolutely abhorrent and should not be tolerated. Should we fight back yes to defend our property but no if we are only stopping to their level of violence.
As a proud Aboriginal man growing up in a racist society I can empathize with these people that wish to protest PEACEFULLY but not with the violence.
In Australia we rave on about reconciliation but that can never be. Nor can it be in any other country. Reconciliation is bringing back together but how can this happen if we were never together in the first place.
What we need as both black and white is to accept bad shit happened in the past and to an extent still happens today. Instead of blaming each other come to a solution to the problem.
RACISM IS A LEARNED BEHAVIOR WE ARE NOT BORN RACIST. TRUE PEACE can only come when people stop saying black is bad or white is the cause of our problems and any other such bullshit. We blame Muslims for terrorism but the religious beliefs are more about acceptance it's the radicals that stuff up this beautiful religion and that view is from a Christian. We are all guilty of racism it's about time we stopped playing the blame game and start working for acceptance.

My dear friend social media and the news only give the information that sells. Bad news sell good news doesn't. Fortunately I have attempted to raise my son to believe in social justice for all and to look at what is NOT being said in the news or social media and to seek the truth not follow the sheep. So far I have been successful in bringing him up with his mother's help and the help of good peers and role models to be pretty well balanced and not believe all he sees.

It's not just the young impressionable minds. Just yesterday, footage came out of an incident in New York where a 75-year-old man was shoved to the ground by police. The man was injured, the police officers (in my opinion) acted excessively and in the wrong and have been suspended, and I hope they are dealt with appropriately. I also hope that the old man makes a full recovery, a head injury at his age is not a good thing (but I also put some blame on him, because he ought to know better than to get up-close-and-personal with a police officer, act somewhat aggressively, and put his hands anywhere near the officer's sidearm, which he did). But that's not the important part.

The important part, Major, is that many people (including, it seems, the news media) reported that "The police didn't even stop to help the injured man". My mother, who watches almost nothing but CNN nonstop all day long, said as much. The footage shows nothing of the sort. The footage clearly shows the same officer that knocked the man over with his baton stopping and kneeling next to him, possibly to check on him. The officer is then moved along by what I'm guessing is his commanding officer, who stops, gets on his radio to report the incident and call for medical help, and keeps directing the line of police (almost all wearing riot armor) forward, which is what they're supposed to do. You don't break the line, you don't break rank. Along with the police officers, you can see two US soldiers/National Guardsmen (one with a Milkor grenade launcher, the other with an assault rifle). Both the grenadier and the rifleman move to the injured man, the rifleman gets down, takes off his backpack, and provides some kind of aid. My guess is that the rifleman was a military-trained medic on station precisely in case they needed medical help, since none of the riot police seemed to be medics and in any case it's hard to help someone wearing riot armor. At least two other police officers are shown in the video standing over the injured man and the two military men and giving some help too. I had to point that out twice to my mother, using both the footage being shown on the TV and the same footage plus some more from another angle on my phone. I still had to remind her of it later because she parroted the narrative again.

The media flat-out lied about what happened, even with visual proof. They conveniently cut the footage to only show the part where the old man was injured, they didn't bother taking the truth of police tactics in mind, they simply ran with their constructed narrative that "Oh these violent police knocked a poor old man over and didn't even bother helping him!" and do you know how many people will just eat that up like ice cream and not even question it? And it's hardly the first time the media have latched onto sensationalism with their jaws and bit down as hard as they could...

I can certainly attest that most of today's youth has lost the true meaning of adventure. Adventure for them is limited to sky diving ,rock climbing etc. For me adventure would have been roaming in the jungles with a nice sxs dbbl gun just like my father and grandfather used to do. I am happy that we can still go fishing when time permits us. I still make the bait for fishing. I love the smell of the roasted ingredients . Earlier every Sunday used to be our fishing day. But it changed with the change of time. We still enjoy fishing. In any functions of our village I carry spare rod for my cousins. In an earlier function in my village we landed 30 kg fish of mixed species in a single sitting on a free day . I alone caught 8 kg.
However, I am greatly saddened by the state of affairs in my country. People are judged by what they eat. They are lynched for even carrying non-prohibited meat. There is unjust comparison between the two categories. People regard meat as rotten food. They say going vegan is the way of life. One should just not judge others due their eating preferences.
@Sam Kunal
My young friend you and my son have so much in common. He is happiest in the bush hunting. Away from any social media or phone.
On our last trip he had not shot anything so he shot a kangaroo ( legally) , skun it and bought the meat home to enjoy. His mum likes vegetarian food but eats meat where as he would much rather a nice piece of venison or red meat or pork.
Keep strong in your beliefs my young friend

This is absolutely beautifully written , Bob . And I am 100 % inclined to agree with you . No one is born racist. It is ingrained in to them . Those looters , who believe that Caucasians are the root of all their problems ... Are the biggest racists of them , all . They are no different from the swines in India , who banned shikar ( By labelling it as “ A white imperialist’s cruel sport “ ) .

During my 10 year career as a professional shikaree ... I used to spend at least 8 months of the year , guiding foreign clients . The bulk of them were Republican ( A group which Democrats label as being “ Inherently Racist “ ) and hailed from Southern American states ... And yet , in 10 years ... I never detected even the remotest signs of racism , from any of them .

They were all perfectly friendly , courteous , polite , kind and generous to all of us ( Local shikarees ) . They hunted with us , shared meals and drinks around many a camp fire with us ... And even saved our lives , on more than a few occasions . They gave us countless expensive gifts and were even polite to the lowly coolies . It was a Caucasian ( Tobin Stakkatz ) ... For whom I can walk on the streets again , as a normal looking person . He paid for my facial reconstructive surgery , after the War .

If you made a list of what they show versus what they don't, one side would be reeeally short.

I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
