I am considering taking a Cape Buffalo Safari and am wondering if anyone has any experience with African Dreams Hunting, with Christoff van As. Seems like a great guy. Would love any feedback you may have.

I thought they were a booking agency?

Because when i have seen them at shows, I have not seen them promote a single lodge, but hunts at many. She also heavily promotes photo safaris.

Truth be told I don't pay much attention to them.

When I saw your post, all the links to African Dreams hunting were invalid. While I did not search the photo safari site extensively, I did not find a link to any current South African hunting.

Are you sure this guy was not just at his booking agents table?

African Dreams is owned and operated by Elaine Coetze (spelling?),, Elaine has been a liscenced professional hunter since I believe 1991. She is now slowing down a bit and doing mainly photo safaries, and acting as a booking agent. She is well known and respected within the industry, and I personally would trust her opinion.

I believe we are confusing two different outfitters....I have hunt booked directly with Shona Safaris for this August. Upon payment of the deposit, he directed me to pay his booking agent; Elaine Ness of African Dream Photo and Hunting Safaris. (Maiden name "Coetzee"?) I understand that she spends her time between Alberta , Canada and Namibia.
I would guess that Africa Dreams Hunting is a different outfit. I have never heard of them.

Yes,,a bit of confusion,,same Elaine,,(Ness is her married name),,As I said above,she is a PH,,now booking agent,,and trustworthy. Like you,,I have never heard of Africa Dreams Hunting,,sorry if I confused things,,Have a good trip!

What country do you plan on hunting

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
