I was in London last week for the first time and took the opportunity to visit the Rigby shop. I just wanted to say how impressed I am with their attitude. I'm not in a position to buy one of their rifles at this time, but their sales manager, indeed everyone I ran into there, was very courteous and made me feel like a valued customer. I already aspired to own something like one of their Highland Stalker or Big Game rifles, and seeing the kind of people they are reinforces this aspiration and makes me feel good about it. In the meantime, I'll enjoy reading the books I picked up, on Ribgy's history and the memoirs of PH John Sharp.

That has also been my experience in purchasing a Rigby Big Game recently from Gordy & Sons in Houston. I met their U.S. sales rep at the Dallas Safari Club show in January, who was very helpful when I was considering optics for the rifle. He also offered to set up a visit to the London shop and proving range the next time I am in London. I've also received immediate response from London, including the managing director of Rigby, when I have posted questions online. John Rigby & Co. is a first class operation in every respect and the rifles are beautiful.

I agree with both of you. I visited the shop three years ago, and see them all each year in Dallas. If I had deep pockets, I'd be one of there biggest customers!

With quality like that, the rifles sell themselves.
Sales has to do nothing but be respectful and courteous to you.
You are not buying just a rifle, you are buying what Rigby stands for.

Visiting that shop and then the Holland & Holland shop would make for a fantastic London trip.

I did exactly that. The H&H shop was also very nice but a different feel. Rigby is located in a somewhat industrial area, whereas H&H is in a retail, more central part of London and you have to walk through a few rooms of clothing show room to get to the gun room. All the guns were behind glass. Rigby is very classy, for sure, but it has more of the feel of a local shop, whereas H&H feels more like a high end jewellery store.

How I see the difference bewteen H&H and the other like Rigby and Westeley Richards where I have been myself.
H&H has got artist working there
The other have got outdoorsman who enjoy art.

i have been to London but the trip was a fast one so visiting the famous gun works wasn’t on the list! Next time however I will make these visits.

+1 Great to deal with. I purchased custom rifle. No issues.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary

Booked with Harold Grinde - Gana River - they sure kill some good ones - who'd you get set up with?
