Tony Sanchez-Arino, A Great Professional Hunter. Few hunters in history can match the accomplishments of legendary hunter Tony Sanchez-Arino, who, with almost 1300 elephant, 2044 buffalo and 332 lion to his credit, is among the most experienced dangerous game hunters to ever go afield. Translating the sum of this experience into tangible form, Tony has teamed up with Belgium’s Dumoulin-Herstal to build dangerous game rifles integrating his preferences in rifle configuration and cartridge selection. The rifles of the Tony Sanchez-Arino collection are made to Tony’s technical specifications, designed to meet the requirements presented by the hunt for dangerous game. The collection includes both Sidelock and Boxlock Ejector Double Rifles in .375 H&H, .470 NE and .500 NE as well as magazine rifles on Mauser actions in dangerous game cartridges from .375H&H to .505 Gibbs. Every rifle in this prestigious collection has Tony’s signature engraved in gold on the barrel.

Tony Sanchez-Arino is a well-known professional hunter and former professional ivory hunter who has hunted in Africa for fifty-five years and counting. Tony has authored several books on elephant hunting, including Elephants, Ivory, and Hunters; The Last of the Few: Forty-two Years of African Safaris; and Elephant Hunters, Men of Legend.

Elephants, Ivory, and Hunters by Tony Sanchez-Arino.The most thorough book ever written on the Aftican elephant from a hunter's point of view. Illustrated with some of the most amazing historical photos of giant tusked bull elephants ever seen as well as a four-tusked elephant.

Few hunters in history can match the accomplishments of legendary hunter Tony Sànchez-Ariño, who, with almost 1300 elephant, 2044 buffalo and 332 lion to his credit, is among the most experienced dangerous game hunters to ever go afield. Translating the sum of this experience into tangible form, Tony has teamed up with Belgium’s Dumoulin-Herstal to build dangerous game rifles integrating his preferences in rifle configuration and cartridge selection.

Annually 1 or 2 anniversary rifles are made. These rifles include the most rare woods and exquisite engraving, the pinnacle of our production and considered among the most beautiful rifles in the world.

From the time he was a little boy in his hometown of Valencia, Spain, he was expected to follow in the foot steps of his father, a famous surgeon. But instead, Tony dreamed of Africa and elephants. He learned to read early and devoured books about exploration and hunting, and he made it to Africa at the age of twenty-one, beginning an illustrious hunting career.

The Last of the Few by Tony Sanchez-Arino. Forty-Two Years of African Safaris.

He hunted elephant professionally for ivory from 1952 until soon after the countries he hunted in gained independence and started having political and security problems. In the early days, there were elephants everywhere in seemingly endless numbers in what was then French Equatorial Africa, Belgian Congo, Cameroon, Sudan, and Somalia. In Liberia, in the 1950s, you could get a twelve-month license to shoot unlimited elephants for $250. There was not even tax on the ivory. In Belgian Congo (now Democratic Republic of the Congo) and Spanish Guinea (now Equatorial Guinea), the quota was also unlimited and you paid tax on the ivory after you shot the elephant--seven dollars per elephant.

Garras y Colmillos by Tony Sanchez-Arino.

He started guiding clients in the early 1960s. Actually, he took some friends out just for pleasure before that. But he guided full time starting in 1960, and he still doing it today, so it's been forty-five years.

Cazadores de Elephantes, Hombres de Leyenda by Tony Sanchez-Arino.

He still hunts about eight months per year, mostly in Botswana and Tanzania. Botswana because it has the best elephant, and Tanzania because it is best for the Big Five. he hates hunting plains game. As he says he has nothing against it, but it holds no interest for him His safaris are primarily for dangerous game.

A great professional hunter and a great writer of many books on African Hunting...

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.

Have twice tried to post something that your site canned as "SPAM" or some problem.. "Contact the Administrator"... Not sure why even the "Contact" button would not send my comment so you only received my query but not the content in question. I'll see if I can get it to you this way... NOPE I use a VPN and perhaps that is causing me grief...
