Sorry guys but I don't agree, the PH schools do exactly what the SA government prescribes they do. I had a lady with me on the course, she did not make it, neither did a few guys. Like everything else hunting has turned into a glamour job for some, fuelled by competitions like Extreme Huntress and female TV show hosts that should have rather stayed in the kitchen. Would love to see stats an how many female PH's are still PH'ing 5 years after they received their licence.
Since time immemorial men were hunters, woman gatherers. Society itself has shown that when it comes to physicallity and endurance a woman cannot at any level compete with a man, its genetics not discrimination. There is no sport were a woman competes head to head with a man at the very top level, none, not even motorsport. Sure a woman can run a Safaris camp, it takes organisation and skill, but it's not that hard to do, but can the same woman travel hundreds of miles through Bush cutting roads as she goes and setup a flycamp with hot water, kitchen, accommodation and everything else needed, I doubt it. Yes Africa makes it easy, labour is cheap and so are skills. Owning or running a good Safaris Business is very different to being a good PH.
It takes a set of b@lls do be a good PH, PG or DG, some woman have a set others (99%) are unfortunately more ass than class.
hunthard safaris , can you name any of these P.H that cut hundreds of miles through the bush single handed , then make a fly camp with hot water and all the mod cons.
or do all the ones that do this have a team of dedicated workers that will go to no ends to get the desired result s
one my boat we have a saying that seems like it would go along with any and most succssessfull business ,including the running of an outfit ( atleast in my way of thinking )
a boat is as good as its skipper, and a skipper is only as good as their crew.
meaning that every facet of a succssessfull , business is a team effort.....
and liken a bussissness to this
there are many women going at it along side men and they are sharing succsess
hunting isn't a sport , its a way of life , chosen by a few ,compared to over all populatation
in the aera l live there are a large percentage of women hunting , every year it seems we have more girls joining us in the bush to hunt .
and they are definitely holding their own ...
they may not be able to drag a 150 kilo gutted samba deer out on their own , but they can and do , bust em up and get them out in pieces .
whether iits a phse or not ,more women are joining our ranks , and in my opinion that's a good thing
and its obvious when a hottie hunter turns up or hunts with the girls that are serious , they usually only go once , while the girl hunters are back out there asap
to compare a real girl hunter to some of these hotties with a firarm , on some reality tv show ,is something that l have no inclination to do
when you meet a real girl hunter you know straight away
