I bought a 20g 870 Special Field when they first came out. Great grouse gun but couldn't hit a rabbit with it to save my life. I think the English stock prevented a good, fast, pivot downward to get on a rabbit. I'm sorry I ever sold it and never see them for sale. Good luck!
It might not be quite what you are looking for, but I do have an 11/87 12ga Turkey gun (with IM and Turkey chokes). 24” barrel is super nice to carry and swing. It is in full Camo though (Mossy Oak)…on the other hand, it’s as durable as it gets.
Not sure if it fits the bill, but I have a 1980's Remington 11-87 Sporting Clays. It is almost new. Shot very very little. It just sits in the safe. The wood is beautifully marbled. Recoil is negligible. It is a true joy to shoot. It comes with the chokes and the plastic green case Remington no longer makes.
I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….
I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
Thanks,
