Mini Skinner Knife

Had a few knives finished the other day with the first two stonewashed blades among them. Really quite taken with the stone washing and not sure whether aI like the p[lain dark handle or the dark handle with the nickle silver bolster. In any case it would be good to hear what you all prefer for the visual.

First is a mini skinner in stone washed 1084 with nickel silver bolster and pins over Tasmanian blackwood handles. A bit of stamping on the sheath with the attached honing steel to complete the set.

@Kevin Peacocke To stone wash a blade I etch it for 7 - 10 minutes in ferric chloride then neutralise the acid in baking soda water and rub lightly with 0000 steel wool. Repeat 3 times then soak for an hour in strong coffee (6 table spoons in 3/4 pint hot water) I made a 5 inch tube with a screw cap on one end and handle bolted to the other fixed end and have a couple of handfulls of stones in it (thumbnails sized river stones) with a good squirt of wd40 and turn the handle for about 4 minutes and end up with the blade as shown.More durable than blueing but as it is marked by thetuimbling in the stones it can be marked by other hard sources as can any blade from rough usage.
