@CAustin This was one of the two most prolific man eaters in the recorded history of Africa. It LONG predated any lion breeding and it was not shot for a trophy. It was shot to prevent further killing of the men working on Patterson's railroad construction project. Look up the lions of Tsavo.

Yep just finished a Chapstick book that speaks to these very man eaters! Patterson spent a great deal of time and energy hunting them down.
