Here's the reason my first safari was in Namibia & with Ozondjahe Hunting Safaris.
We came across this bull with the sun setting and running short on shooting light. As we closed within 100 yards of the Gemsbok we buggered out several smaller (so Andries, my PH, claims) Gemsbok and he directed me to hold for the "big one". He was right and his abilities to judge a trophy was spot on.
Luckily I got a lung shot and we didn't have to track the animal more than 50 yards of dense brush. I've seen what lives in there and was glad to be out by nightfall.
