Tom Leoni Dec 13, 2018 Thanks! The coat is Beretta - I've had it for about 10 years, and I don't know if they still make it. The rifle is a 1925 H&H single shot.

Tom Leoni Dec 13, 2018 It's a .375 H&H Magnum Flanged (rimmed). I load it with 68 gr of Alliant RL-15 under a 270 gr Speer BTSP.

tarbe Dec 13, 2018 Sweet Tom! I have used the 235gr Speer in my 375 belted (Ruger No1...not an H&H!) with 65gr IMR 4895. Effective without the dreaded high velocity mess! I like the way you roll! Tim

tarbe Dec 13, 2018 2,450 from a 22 inch barrel and 2,500 from a 24 inch. Good load for woods shooting, which is mostly what I've done here in the states (including in your neck of the woods, when I lived in VA).

tarbe Dec 13, 2018 I think a guy could load that 235 all the way down to 2,200 or so (with a faster burning powder though) and take deer cleanly in the woods. Hawk makes some nice .375 bullets with .025" thick jackets that would work great on deer too!
