I was going to ask the same.
 
The rifle is a Martini-Henry (model 71) which still shoots fairly well, considering its heavy use at Kwajimu........................FWB
 
The cartridge, derived from the old Snider 577, uses a 480 grain lead bullet of .455 to .456 diameter (although I have shot many .458's in it) driven by 85 grains of black....and like it's similar neighbor, the 45-90, penetrates very deeply in soft tissue............Bill
