Christmas in July. I just received my Von Gruff knives here in Tennessee. After handling them like a new born baby, complete with oohs and aahs from the Mrs, the chef knife has taken its rightful place in the front of the kitchen knife drawer, while the skinner has already found its way onto my safari belt.
The wood, as promised, is literally spell binding. I have always appreciated the art and character of a fine piece of wood, and these two knife handles do not disappoint. The blades, well they have yet to be tested, but as Bruce Moulds has stated elsewhere, that is part of the journey of knife ownership. The sheaths and steel are just icing on the cake as they will both enjoy the same adventures as the knives.
Thanks to Von Gruff for bringing such joy to a wisened old man, and to both his sons, who will inherit these knives when the good Lord calls me home one day. Not any time soon mind you!
