Any love for the federal terminal ascent?

Impala have a coat very similar to deer. That one was right at 200 yards. I have seen it also on whitetail deer but that is the most impressive example. I also took a Oryx at about 75 yards but didn't notice that much on its coat but it did dump it with authority. You can see 13 of the plains...

    Good Gun Deals This Week

Shame it looks like post 64 push feed action. Makes it much less desirable for me

Any love for the federal terminal ascent?

The Impala was the most impressive but it is pretty common on the same kind of animals.

Any love for the federal terminal ascent?

Wow. That's not my experience. Here is entrance would on Impala and two Blesbok. Everything I have shot has been brutal damage.

Any love for the federal terminal ascent?

Yes this is pretty common. I have seen it the 300wm and 7 rem mag on plains game and 7 prc with deer. I would guess 1/4 of the. 100% of the time TA makes impressive entry and exit. Here's another entry wound on a Blesbok

Any love for the federal terminal ascent?

Terminal Ascent is my preferred bullet. I have taken at least 30 animals, 15 plains game animals from Duiker to kudu to Water Buck just to say a few. Several deer and lots of wild hogs. Almost always pentrates all the way through with instant expansion. Only 3 bullets recovered have been on a...

Let’s be honest….accuracy off the sticks

I agree but everything where I have hunted in Africa is covered with thorns making it tough to sit many places.

Let’s be honest….accuracy off the sticks

I saw those but seems like something else to get caught on the bush at the wrong time. The 4 stable sticks work perfect for me.

Let’s be honest….accuracy off the sticks

My current one is just like my old one I gifted to my PH. It grips the leather R8, Plastic Tikka stock, McMillian fiberglass and my Sako wood stock all equally well.

Let’s be honest….accuracy off the sticks

I am assuming you have it resting on the barrel for picture purposes but in case you don't know resting on the barrel can really mess up barrel harmonics and throw shots off by feet.

Let’s be honest….accuracy off the sticks

Maybe this will help. This is my Blaser R8 with 375 Barrel. Luckily it was still daylight and I could go outside and take some photos. These are the carbon Quad sticks available on Amazon and weight a little over a pound and tough as nails.

Let’s be honest….accuracy off the sticks

Here’s a video of me taking 15 animals from 20 to 420 yards with quad sticks in Eastern Cape last year. Average shot was over 250 yards. Only change I would make is I had a habit of putting my finger on the side of the barrel which caused slight (a few inches) horizontal stringing. Noticed this...
