My best African Trophy

Hard question to answer because my best African trophy is not merely the largest. There are two Cape buffalo that are particularly special to me because of the experience in taking them. Just the widest or the tallest doesn't tell the whole story.

My favorite African trophies

Cape buffalo, crocodile, kudu, gemsbok.

My preferred weapon(s)

.338 Winchester Magnum for plains game.

.458 Winchester Magnum for buffalo.

Shoot several other calibers and have also used my .375 H&H and my .416 Ruger in Africa but have never lost an animal with the .458 or the .338. They are a great two rifle battery for plains game and dangerous game. Opinions will vary.

My other interests

Other than my family, nothing else even comes close to my interest in hunting Africa, reloading, firearms.

Away from hunting and shooting I enjoy riding my mountain bike, sipping Amarula with friends, and my computer.
