Since October 1980, married to a patient woman, the caregiver to our youngest son, 26, with special needs. Three other children. Oldest son in Kentucky retired from fire fighting in 2024. Daughter runs operations for a construction-related company in Nashville. Middle son was river barge hand and just joined NOAA, to be stationed in Oregon.
Army Engineer officer 1975-95. Eight years with troop units; Army Engineer School Instructor Team Leader; Pentagon and NATO staff officer; Deputy Commander and Deputy Engineer of U.S. Army District Nashville. Taught higher ed 1995-2024--except 2005-08 in industry restoring Navy facilities after Katrina and Wilma, oil restoration in Iraq, and subject matter expert for AACE International.
Still fairly fit by weights, walking, calisthenics, Air-Dyne, and flexibility.

- Need good boots for old, badly worn feet. Heat is hardly a bother, but the cold can be debilitating; warm clothing is critical.

- Still interested in higher educational issues, where so much improvement is needed. Remain interested in national security matters. Love to read good biography and history, as well as stay current in firearms. Often re-read Jack O'Connor, Elmer Keith, John Taylor, Harvey Donaldson, Townsend Whelan, Theodore Roosevelt--among other outdoorsmen and hunters.
