Any reason not to use a 350 grain .375 bullet for buffalo

The most important part is the length of the bullet and its bearing surface in relation to the rate of twist of your barrel. The typical rate of twist of the 375 H&H is 1/12 (one twist in twelve inches). This stabilizes a bullet as long as 1.75 inches. If you have a rifle with a slower rate of...

    Hornady CX

I know I'm late answering your post and you probably know by now, just in case, Barnes LRX bullets have a higher ballistic coefficient than the TTSX. The LRX doesn't require the same velocity to expand and it extends your hunting range by about a couple of hundred yards. They tend to lose petals...

    Blaser R8 question

Even if you have identical barrels, you have to rezero for each one. I use dedicated scopes to each barrel which may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Replying to Powdermaker: (unable to find your post to link it to my reply.) Treat the R8 like a pump rifle or an auto. Full length resizing is mandatory All the best! Paul

Blaser R8 Classic Sporter Stock Question

You'll be fine as long as you disclose the exact condition of the stock, (cracks) and the action. When you sell "As-Is", you still have to disclose. As-Is only means that you will not pay for the repairs, it's up to the Buyer to do so after he/she inspects and approves of the condition of the...

Why are Weatherby guns in 375+ calibers not liked on a Safari?

I agree about the recoil and it's tolerable even on the bench provided it has one of the more recent stocks. The older ones which I had were brutal. Mine didn't come with a muzzle break, the new ones all have a break.

Why are Weatherby guns in 375+ calibers not liked on a Safari?

I do as well. It does recoil on the shoulder as it's supposed to. Never had a cut eyebrow, these are usually caused by a prone or semi prone position where one is leaning too heavily forward. Higher scope mounts can help in that regard.

    Tipping Guide

Tips have existed for thousands of years. Don't blame the USA for inventing tipping. In general, Americans are generous, so are many other cultures. Not all however who can discuss "tips" endlessly and who are obssessed to fine tuning every cent to a ridiculous degree. The understanding of...

    .45 Super

I agree with the choice of powders. I'd personally stay away from hollowpoints and use instead 240 grains to 255 grains hard cast lead bullets for maximum penetration, either for reloading or commercial ammunition. Underwood and Buffalo Bore as well as a couple of others make very potent loads...

Sure, you can do that. I did it at first between two barrels.

It's a great idea but moving a scope from one barrel to another requires adjustments every time. I have four barrels and each has a dedicated scope.

Yes, it does that in real life and there is nothing you can do about it. Shortening it would prevent you for affixing both rings of a scope. Its length covers the loading port. It can potentially interfere in a cartridge ejection and it certainly makes loading the magazine from the top...

    It does cover the chamber.
