Any .577 NE rifles in use out there?

Yes sir, we are out here but we are few. The 577 is mighty indeed.

Do the 577 and 600 nitro really offer anything?

To answer the original question, yes, all things being equal, the larger rifles are more effective on big game. However, I would be remiss in also stating that they aren't meant for everyone. They were also not meant for general purpose rifles or for the casual sportsman to occasionally take a...

    "Suzie Q"

Yes sir, I know the song well. Oddly enough, my great grandmother owned a restaurant by the same name. Thank you for the kind words.

    "Suzie Q"

Thank you, sir. It's certainly not the first as I know of at least 3 others but I would guess that the number is still in the single digits.

Thank you, sir. It's been a long time coming. In regards to the recoil, this rifle fits me perfectly which hepls a tremendous amount. When hunting, it is only as noticeable as when one uses any other large caliber. When shooting off-hand at the range, it's much akin to a heavy load in a 10ga...

Thank you. I wasn't able to make it to the shows this year but I'm sure there was plenty to feast your eyes on. It's been great having b this rifle so far and she preforms great in the field. Soon she'll be on the tracks of elephant and buffalo as she should be.

    "Suzie Q"

When I was a very young boy, just as I was learning to read, I also learned of Africa and of the men that wandered that continent in the early days. As my knowledge grew, the group that interested me most were the ivory hunters with names like Sutherland, Pearson, Banks, and Anderson. These...

    Elephant Import advice

That's a lot of hide ! My shipment will be similar. When did you apply for your import permits and how long did it take for them to be approved? P.s. I'll be looking around for someone to tan my hides as well so if I find someone, I'll be sure to pass their info on to you.

    Elephant Import advice

Yes sir, I kept the skull. I always wanted one and this one has some interesting character and memories. My plan is to have the ivory collared at the base of the tusks with brass or German silver, then I'll have a pair of bases made that I can slide the tusks onto if I want to display them...

    Elephant Import advice

I also took my own personal bull this year. Aside from the skull and ivory, I also have 4 large panels, trunk skin, and both ears that need to be tanned and thinned. I will be following along here to gain any wisdom as well. Thank you.

Lovely rifle, Bwana. Might I ask where and who you had your barrels made by ? I've got an old 470 that needs the same treatment.
