Someone sent me this video and I thought it was interesting. Obviously it is focused on defense ammo but a lot could translate to DG ammo.
The discussion of elasticity made me wonder if the reputation for toughness of African game is in some way related to them having a higher elasticity than...
The 45-70 is a rimmed cartridge that’s why it works better with single or double rifle ejectors. There is a rim to grab onto. Think bout a shotgun shell and the rim on that that a double shotgun ejector grabs.
Historically I’ve preferred Federal. But all I’ve been able to get lately is Remington. I’m hoping they work out I haven’t used them yet. The fact no one mentioned them here isn’t encouraging.
Depends on the hunt for me. If we had followed tracks all day for a couple days and had a ln exciting interesting hunt that I wanted to remember and he was at the end of it yes.
If we were driving along and we him got out walked a couple hundred yards probably not. But I wouldn’t want one with...
Take a look at this. Pretty sure I can’t say the name without being edited but I’m using it on a cheap Spanish shotgun as a first gun refinish myself. His English red tint can be diluted to the color you want. Watch his YouTube video where he refinished a rifle stock very informative and clear...
Welcome! I spend time every year in the Ft Pierre grasslands chasing grouse. Love that part of the world.
I’m doing a hunt with Buzz in Zimbabwe next year. I didn’t realize he did hunts in Mozambique. Can’t wait to read your report.
As far as fitness I’ll be hunting chamois in Romania in November and can give you a report then.
I’m not going with Marius but nearly did. I almost regret not selecting him based on the interaction here. I’m going with the hunting consortium. But it was a difficult decision. I’m very likely to...
That would be directly targeting DSC in a negative way and I would be resigning my SCI membership and ending the annual sponsorship I do for the chapter here. There is not reason to do that other than trying to negatively impact DSC and that’s bad for conservation.
But that doesn’t mean they weren’t told it wouldn’t be available two years ago when they made the decision. Everyone needs to stop comparing what KBH looked like two months ago with what DSC was told it would look like tow years ago. The only information they had when they made the decision was...
Totally understand and agree. But if I know the weight of tusks in various pictures I can start to understand the ranges. If I just see pictures with no weight I’m learning nothing.
And most of the things you have contains at least a few parts or materials from locations other than where they were made. We have to accept the economy isn’t as simple as it was 50 years ago.
It doesn’t matter and I’ve never measured an animal I shot.
But I don’t always get to see the pictures. So when someone says they shot a 25 or 35 pound elephant I want to be able to picture approximately what that looks like. That’s why I asked.
I know they can be long and skinny or short...
Tear down or no tear down the bottom line was KBH told DSC they could not be accommodated. McCanna says others were told the same a relocated. He admits that one of the reasons DSC wound up in Atlanta was they didn’t move fast enough and other locations in Texas were booked up in some cases by...
