I remember, years ago, reading in a Land Rover Owner magazine about a Pom who bought diesel at a supermarket in/near London before his regular drive to Scotland in a fully loaded Series Land Rover . He got about 2/3 the normal distance before having to refill the tank. The supermarket was...
I have a Husqvarna 540XP top handle saw. It is quite a bit smaller than some of the professional tree felling kit desribed in this thread but it is made for climbing and ... at the time, it was both better and cheaper than the ancient model Stihl was selling. The top handle has three grip sizes...
Probably the result of the machine that stamps out brass disc's from the brass strip being run too quickly and getting out of time. If a cutting die takes a nick out of a disc that will happen. I only saw it twice at the range complex that I used to run.
@rookhawk It depends upon nib design and quality. Many years ago, the local Parker pen repair man made me up a Parker 45 fountain pen with an Italic nib. That was a special nib which had rounded edges, just like a medium nib. It allowed me to write in italic and cursive styles without the nib...
The Safari is a good practice pen when I haven’t used a fountain pen in several weeks. If I am doing a lot of demolition, concrete form work or building large timber retaining walls, I tend to leave off fountain pen use until my muscles and tendons have loosened up a bit. The Safari is also a...
Lamy Safari is my middle level pen. I still have a couple of Parker Vectors lying around BUT my favourite fountain pen is my Lamy 2000 with Cycolac (ABS plastic) body. N.B. Cycolac is the same material as the Steyr Mannlicher SSG 69 stock.
In the late 1980s, Parker resurrected their DuoFold line for a few years. I know this because my first Trade Cert is in retail and I was a commercial stationer at the time. Bigger barrel than normal and a very nice feel. I imagine that any DuoFold pen is fetching collector prices now BUT if you...
Good suggestion @Flbt. The 6mm/244 Remington is a much safer chambering because the combustion gases leave the cartridge case in line with the barrel. You do not prematurely roughen up the leade and cause pressure problems. I ran a club range complex for 14 years and you need to learn...
Be very, very certain that you want this:unsure:! Bob is only a short drive from Sydney. Can you handle it, can you handle it:D:A Stirring::A Banana:?
Actually … Bob is a good guy and Judy is a lovely lady:D.
CZ only claim Remington 700 layout for scope base mounting. No surprise there, given that it goes back to the remachined P17 receivers used in Remington Model 30 rifles and has become something of a standard, over the years.
I just saw a Facebook post from Bertram Brass, dated 16 hours ago, showing brand new .303 Savage cases. If you want some for your Savage 99, chase up your supplier now.
A 139 gr Hornady Interlock bullet has been known to pencil through red deer because … it was designed for the .264 Winchester Magnum. Appropriate bullet selection will always beat fashion and promotional bullshit.
