For Sale Custom 416 Taylor On Remington 700 - Houston

I sent an enquiry to the good folks at Wilson Combat, and they said the cost to reproduce this work in today's economic climate would be quite cost prohibitive. Unless, of course, they started with a Hi Point 9mm. But even then, it would have to be purchased from the trunk of an 89 Oldsmobile.
All the best transactions are done with people that don’t have last names

As a matter of fact I have now converted it to an AR to look like a bar of Irish Spring soap. I do think I’m going to take it with me to Moz in 2025 just to have something to post pictures with it here.
Are you going to drag your Buffalo out with your thumb and two middle fingers? Lol!

Well, it started life as a 1911.

Took some creative ‘smithing to turn it into a Remington M700.

All part of the charm!

This is one of those that the hang tag at the gun show to describe it would have “VERY RARE!!!” In big sharpie lettering right above an inflated price.

Well guess what is making the trip for sure... I have to admit, I probably have some guns better suited, but I wanted to kick this thread back up again.

Right not it is shooting 350gr TSX over 73.5 grains of RL15 about 2360 fps. .737" three shot at 100. 1.45" at 200, so I am happy.

Although, I do hope that is enough for a buff and hippo, but I am also taking a .470 NE as well, so it is more for plains game really.

Any gun good, shoot'um good!

No doubt that 350gr TSX will punch the ticket, Shoot straight and have fun!

Have you ever had it out of the stock? Is the bedding the same marble look?

The bowling ball goes to Africa.... I like it!!! Cant wait for the pics

It shoots so well I’m scared to even look directly at it for too long. Lol

I hear you there. When I get one of those I just lock it up in the safe.

I only ask because my friend in CO did most of Rays stock work and matching the swirl was his trademark. I’ve got several of his works.

I tried to get Ray to do some work long ago. But he was already semi retired and being a new customer struck out.

You guys are hilarious…I was almost late to work reading the last [emoji6] pages of history and hilarity!! It make a me want to get to one of those Safari conventions someday to meet all of you characters! Thanks for all the laughs!

When I get back from Moz it will probably be due for a deep clean. I’ll try to remember to look

Are you trying to make me wish I had kept it?

Working...................:ROFLMAO:

Oddly enough I read on another forum that Ray passed away recently. I only met him once, he put a set of sights on a rifle for me. Nice fellow.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
