No worries. no advance notice needed unlike say Airlink in JNB or if you are going through Amsterdam. Just plan on showing up at least three hours early I do four hours. They will weigh your ammo ask you to open your rifle case then they place their review card in your rifle case and tell you to...
Lon and Liesl I will be coming back for more in the future!!!! I feel like Rourk and Hemingway are at the bar with me at your lodge looking over Lake Kariba as we have a sun downer at your fabulous wood bar!!!
WOW!!! What can I say...both Tokoloshe and Conservation Force are truly exceptional!!!! I got my elephant this past April just 4 months ago and just got my U.S. Import approval!!!! For those of you who have asked here is what you need:
1. A great outfitter like Tokoloshe who can provide all...
I will say it again … even with a well deserved and warranted price increase this is an exciting incredible hunt with awesome people and experience!!! I can’t wait to go back!!!!
I had all Swaro scopes on all my guns. To be clear awesome glass. The problem is in horizontal alignment. The Swaros just do not have the latitude to gain zero that Leoupolds do. I sold all my Swaros for Leupold and have not looked back. To me knowing my scope will hit where I want with glass so...
While I love both SCI is geared more to Africa in terms of most outfitters as DSC has so many deer hunting and other type outfitters beyond Africa. If I am hunting Africa SCI is the clear choice
Given I have owned one the gun is built with a seer that prevents doubling. many times this breaks as mine did. JJ repaired my broken one for $500 good as new
please let me know! if with fellow AH members I am in. I need three things please
1. where to fly into
2. where to stay
3. Exact dates with AHs
I can work my dates around group
Here is my experience. I do all my taxi in Africa for the following reasons based on my 22 taxi animals done:
1. Cheaper even with shipping
2. Africa knows Africa animals versus US taxis
3. Twice the time for animals to finally arrive to you if you use US
4. One more chance for problems if you...
I will try to make this…no promises. If I can make it I will bring my Rigby DR in 470 NE with plenty of ammo for people to enjoy shooting it. Please share final agenda with place, times and recommended lodging close by
That is an awesome deal round trip no question as long as you don’t mind whatever seat you get and the total travel time. As others have said, my time is worth money to me. Good luck and have fun!!!
I have never had any problems traveling with my guns on safari. I would never book my own travel without either Travel Express or Gracy. It is not difficult at all just don’t do it by yourself. With respect think “penny wise pound foolish.”
Congratulations Mark!!! I have two Pelicans I would sale but unless you are in GA I could not given too hard to pack and ship due to size. My two local UPS stores told me they did not have a big enough box for one
That’s basically what I am saying…the OP needs to start with a budget in mind first unless money is no concern. I have done my homework on my three buff hunts. You are correct…depending on what you truly want you get what you pay for.
Also what is your budget? SA $8-$10,000 but yes there are fences although 20,000 acres plus. Zim $15,000 and up once day rates and trophy fees with no fences but expect to see villagers walking around at the darndest times and places no tip or airfare.
My highest recommendation goes to @tsala safari. I worked my rear off up and down the Warerberg mountains and on day 5 took a 43 inch beautiful hard won buff!!!
Awesome thread I am watching with great interest!!! Leopard is the last for my big 5. I saved him for last given he is the hardest to get based on success ratios
Try Hadleys in Hamilton GA. You can google them for contact information. They do award winning Taxi. Now to be clear I do not know of any Africa animals they have done but given they live near me I visited and talked to the owner and he said he would have no problem doing Africa animals. Just...
I do believe though it is strictly a money issue. All my PHs would love to have a DR but the high cost just put it out of reach. Also reloading is usually a problem for them and with a DR it is almost a requirement to they opt for a bolt action
Just for me here is what I found having hunted with both. SRO has wider field of vision given larger glass view. RMR less field of view but more focused aiming at least for me. After using both I stick with the Trijicon RMR 1.0 given clearly my groups were much better. just me
If you
If you are not going to commit to reloading you will most likely be disappointed in the DR 470. It is a rare thing to get a large bore DR regulating without hand loading. In my experience I would not get any DR unless you are committed to reloading…otherwise you will be disappointed
Please do…It all depends on the outfitter being able to supply the needed information for import to the US…Zim is a country that has many successful imports to the US but if the outfitter cannot supply the needed information it will not work. The Learning that I was so fortunate to have is to...
