VX6 Patrol 1-6 FireDot duplex is great to me. Non CDS turrets. Why they discontinued no idea. It's getting hard to find a non turret low magnification scope for big bores.

For the 375 HH I went. VX5 2-10 FireDot. I still use this scope the Patrol 1-6 firdot on my 458 lott. Shame Leupold discontinued the Patrol FireDot this year. If you can find one buy it! I found one last week as a back up scope for Lott

I just handled and looked thru the Leica Fortis 1.8-12x42i. Thinking that will be my next purchase. Really clear and has capped turrets, no CDS dials.

Great scope at a good price!! Seller is great to deal with also! Good luck with sale, shouldn't last long.

I use either a Pelican or TuffPac. Never have removed scopes for travel. So far never had one off and had to rezero when arrived. I take two rifles and sometimes 3. Why I use the TuffPac most of the time.

Don't look for sympathy here. I joined in 2018 when found this site after winning my first safari. Now 20 guns later and 6 safaris and who knows how much other stuff I'm addicted. These guys here are the best at helping you spend your money and very supportive in many ways. .

Please treat your clothes well!! Get Dr to give you a precription of Doxy to take along with you. I found a Bonte tick attached to me the day after I shot my buffalo in 2018. Started feeling bad on flight home. Bite spot abscessed and was on Doxy for 3 weeks and missed 2 weeks work laid up off...

Laura Sewell, Eastern Ins/ Gallagher I have my policy with them. Very affordable and covers travel outside of USA as well. I think other AHers use them also.

Agreed. That's a good price on a scope that is now out of production. All the VX6 models have been replaced with VX6 Gen2 and prices way more now.

A 7-9 day PG hunt with 5-7 PG and a buff cow hunt. I think is doable from some of the sponsors on here. That way you can get a taste of DG on your first trip. I know I enjoy hunting Buff Cows, more exciting getting in a herd.

I also do it by the day. I have never tipped as a percentage. PH $100-$125 day on PG. DG $150-200 depending on animal. Trackers drivers cooks cleaning and laundry staff by the day also. Skinners by animal skinned not the day. This has worked for me and all have seemed happy.

I love the BC stock on my 458 lott. Weight wise it is comparable. If you decide on a BC stock, call BC and you. Am have made to your LOP and also I had them install a recoil reducer. Added very little to the cost, I think $100 was all. Also you can do away with the barrel recoil lug with the BC...

Full disclosure on this stock! Came off my CZ 550 458 Lott. Several trips to Africa. Gun was a #2 AHR. Wayne bedded stock and put recoil reducer in it. Reducer has been removed. Stock has a small crack at rear trigger guard that has been repaired. I replaced with Bell Carlson for more hunts...

I never thought I needed a 338 WM till now myself. In process of makeover of a New Haven Winchester 70 Classic Sporter that found its way to me. It will be used on 2027 Zim trip for Leopard and PG with 458 Lott for DG. Now to decide and find the right ammo for it.

I have used the VIP with RiflePermits for 6 trips. Well worth it and will continue to use them. Speed thru customs and none of the pandhandlers will mess with you with those guys escorting you. They have gone and found missing bags and cases for me also. They can go places you can't.
