My 454 aframe actually went thru. I have two aframes from the 460 buff which were in the offside hide shit at 150yds and 15 yards. Ill find em and post them.

So far the 45 cal 325 aframe has been the best handgun hunting bullet ive used in africa followed by the 300 gr bullet. The 325 was used for cape buff and lion out of a 454 casull and the 300 out of a 460 bfr for cape buff and 12 other plains game.

454 has better bullets available for it. I have more than one if basically all the normal big bores, meaning i dont have a 475 max, but i tend to go 41 to 454 to 500 jrh but usually use and love my 460 sw in the bfr.

Interesting in that out of the bfr you can get the 500 smith to shoot 400 grain bullets over 1800 fps. To get faster ya look for the 50 alaskan Conversion bit doesnt gain much except recoil. Personally id take a 400 at 1800 50 cal over 45 cal 500 gr at 1600. You can also load 500 gr pills out...

the 400 ceb solid is imho the best for the 500 smith. very solid, great meplat. this bullet has accounted for the #1 handgunned cape buff as of sci show in January with the 400 grain bullet out of the 500 smith.
