What are my options for a current production crf 375 h&h rifle?

Sure. You're saying an R8 is not built properly? Or modern precision machining isn't good? Or you don't like the way exhibition grade wood looks on R8? Parts interchangeability is bad? Frankenstein suggests parts pulled from a various disparate parts not designed for each other. It's a really...

What are my options for a current production crf 375 h&h rifle?

I don’t recall anyone ever saying you need to take an R8 to a smith to make a reliable accurate shooter. 98s and 70s are excellent rifles. But most I know spend R8 money to turn them into what they want

Refining your dangerous game cartridge selection over the years

I have learned to love the 375H&H for nearly everything. While I continue to eye a 416RM for my R8, I am grounded by the fact bullets have advanced tremendously in the past 50 years. They don’t add mass but they do everything else far better. Safari solids if I need a solid. Have enough A...

Hierarchy Of Double Rifles - Where does the Verney-Carron Fit In?

While the Heym is great, the Intelligent ejectors of the Krieghoff is what wins for me. As I've said elsewhere, the way to make the double "affordable" is to get barrel sets both up and down caliber as well as 20G. 06/375/500 416/20G goes anywhere. Most will give you a varmint round as well.

    Blaser R8 with Suppressor

I use SR (rail mount) versions of the Z8 on my R8s. Even at 0.75x I don’t see the suppressor. For many reasons I only use rail mount.

What Scope To Choose On My .375

All will serve you well. I went 0.75x6 Z8 for up close work. The 0.75 went you need it helps get rid of tunnel vision. But the 1-8 is awesome as well. That and a 2-12 and you’re covered for nearly anything. Trijicon is very tough. I have them on black rifles. Just be sure the reticle fits...

Rifle Cases & Custom Cut Foam

Some outfitters get pissed if you don’t transition to a soft case if there is a last leg on a bush plane. Loaners may be there but I bring a Galco. Case Foam is by far the most straightforward and low stress approach for the hard case foam. And I’d never rely on crushing the gun between layers...

For what it's worth, I tend to carry a spare trigger group/loaded magazine for an instant top off. There are threads here of people with belt pouch kit to hold said spare trigger group. If I go down two rounds of 375 and conditions permit, the spare group goes in and retain the other for backup.
