How did this rifle end up shooting?

I thought as much, price wise. It was at $5000 when I first started watching it, then it has been re-listed several times at $4500.

This is an interesting offer! AHR is selling CZ550 actions for $1000 and another $500 for the 3 pos safety and single stage trigger. Thats $1500, but this one is almost ready to go for a few hundred more. Good deal!

I am not a gunsmith, but I was wondering if a quarter rib could be made and installed on Ruger Hawkeye African, such that is would at least resemble the much better M77 MKII Express.

I'm not sure if the Rigby Shikari was unveiled at DSC or it had been prior to that.

They don't have it up on their website yet. I only say semi traditional because of the pic rails on the bridge of the receiver, the rest is good. But they are tentatively more expensive than a Top of the Line Parkwest Arms model.

Snowy Mountains Rifles have a semi traditional African safari style rifle. They just introduced it at DSC.

I think then One in 22 would be neat for practice, but the hornet is expensive relatively speaking.

I only am aware of this from other people's reports on them, mostly trustworthy reports...but a grain of salt can be taken with them haha. I thought about a Ruger African in 300 win mag, but may save up for a RUger Safari Express instead.

Can the CZ 416 Rigby hold 4 in the magazine? I know 416 Ruger is only 3 and I hear the stocks are prone to cracking.

All black plastic, tacticool, and/or push feed so far.

It does say deceased under the picture and there appears to be a bullet hole.

Hello, Mr. MacDonald. I have been following the new MCR since I first heard about it re-opening. Lot's of people here want to see the new MRC succeed.

I'd like to see the Model 1999 PH model return with a magnum length action. Or for them to just sell the action alone.

Ruger did not even bring there Hawkeye African or Guide gun models to DSC. I'm not holding my breath for them either. Far cry from the days of the Ruger RSM.

Any traditional style hunting rifles...longshot haha

They are fine rifles, but Rigby would not even acknowledge my presence at their DSC booth (both years I went). They must know I am poor haha. If I should ever strike it rich, I will stick with Heym and Parkwest. They were very happy to chat with me, even though I was not a buyer.

Damn, I must of missed them when I was there. I got my hopes up I suppose. I was hoping for a Ruger Hawkeye African Supergrade haha, aka the reborn Ruger Safari Express.

Does Ruger usually have a booth at DSC? I see them on the map, but I don't remember them being there in 2022. I just wondered if it was normal or if they may be releasing something new that is relevant to their African line. When I talked to Ruger on the phone, I asked them about future plans...

Wow! I was watching that bid upwards, but last time I checked it, the price was just north of $2k. That is insane for a Ruger African. If it was an M77 Express I would not be surprised. Maybe Ruger should take note.

Awesome! I love Ohiopyle, it exemplifies some of the best of PA. White water rated there and rode the bike trails a few times.

Thanks, @ChrisG. I thought it was a handy rifle though, little front heavy, but pointed fairly well. A little gunsmithing could smooth out some of the grit in the action.

Is the safety lever polymer or just light metal on the African? Held one the other day and it felt cheap (the lever).
