Acceptable accuracy in a rifle! What’s that mean??

Looking back, at hunter sight in day at our club, I helped zero a number of REM 760s in .30-06, .308, & .270, that would Shoot under 2”. I’ll bet no one missed a deer because of lack of accuracy.

Acceptable accuracy in a rifle! What’s that mean??

Something we need to consider is if a rifle shoots 2" groups that are symmetrical at 100yds, each shot will be 1" from point of aim. Everyone wants a 1/2" rifle, but for big game hunting, not varmints, a rifle shooting larger groups will likely get the job done consistently.

Hard decision Remington 700 or interarms CRF .243win

If you haven’t decided, my .02 buy the Interarms. Plastic rifles are everywhere, the Interarms is a good shooter as well as a good looker. My opinion.

Why did you buy a 6.5 Creedmoore?

Wow, so many stating why the Creedmoore is no better than other ctgs. I don't believe that is what I asked, I think I also requested that we not turn it into a debate, but rather why did you buy one.. Wish the haters would disrupt another forum. Thanks.

    Back country carry gun

One thing seldom mentioned about Bear spray is WIND! If you spray upwind, you won't like it! Firearms don't care which way the wind is blowing! Wind is almost always a factor here.

    2 Gun Combo

One of them would have to be a varmint rifle! Possibly a TC Encore (though that's a rifle not high on my list of, I like this) the other a .375 H&H Mag.

    9.3x62mm vs. .375 H&H Mag

Get worried when hunters show up with a .375. It's the caliber that wounds the most animals. People aren't comfortable shooting it. I submitt it's the people not the cartridge itself, that wounds most game. Helping people check the zero on their rifle before the hunt might disclose this &...

Why did you buy a 6.5 Creedmoore?

Thanks most of you. I'm sick of the manbun responses, & wonder how many of those manbun responders actually have shot one? Running one ctg down to prove yours is better is a pretty childish approach. If I offend someone, oh well!

Why did you buy a 6.5 Creedmoore?

I am curious, I wonder just how many of the 6.5 Creedmoore fans bought it because a 6.5X55 wasn't readily available and the Creedmoore was? I will be first to raise my hand, I wanted a 6.5X55, and none were available and if you found one it was out of my price range. PLEASE let's not get into...

    Which Second Rifle?

Having never been to Africa, nor owning a double rifle, but having considerable experience shooting a nice double shotgun that fits me very well, I’d pick the Webley .450 BP Express! Barnes "X" bullets?

I have experience with the original Barns X bullet in the .375 H&H both the 270gr & the 300gr. Accuracy was good, penetration fantastic, load data the same as Hornaday 270 & 300gr bullets. I tested them in rolled up rubber matting, they penetrated 9” in rolled up rubber, & shed all their petals...

The 350gr Hornaday RN .458 bullet in the Marlin .45-70

I am aware of bullet profile for lever actions. If it means anything, Hornaday in the 11th edition page 769, lists both a flat nose & the old round nose in the .45-70 1895 Marlin data. I think Hornaday would have researched their data? still has anyone used this bullet on game, & what were the...

The 350gr Hornaday RN .458 bullet in the Marlin .45-70

Anyone have experience on game using this bullet? I had heard it was developed for a lighter bullet in the .458 Win Mag. If this is true, it might be a good, tough, bullet that really penetrates in the .45-70. Most of our Elk country is also grizzly country, so using a bullet for the most...
