I'd think the same as AZDave. The higher COG of the magnifier on that hinge with something along the lines of a .458 Lott in recoil would have me concerned for durability. Either disengaging the lever holding the magnifier in place or compromising the whole hinge.

I had no trouble transiting through both in and out this May via Ethiopian. $5 made things smooth on the way in, not necessary on the way out. Very small terminal, so no need for an arrival service, in my opinion.

Total count is 2 deer for the 308/100gr, 2 deer for the 300/130gr. Didn't end up dragging out the 375/275's this week. My wife flies in today and we start hunting again tomorrow-weds. Will report back. Haven't seen the internal damage yet, they're all going to the processor whole down here.

Yessir. 100gr CEB FB Raptor over 43.5gr of RL10x, clocked at 3400fps out of a 20" Christensen barrel.

Shot a whitetail buck this morning that weighed out at 197lbs. Frontal shot with no exit. The outfitter was stunned at the performance at the shot (dropped in its tracks) and the processor relayed that the chest was a bowl of jelly. Taking out the 300 Win Mag with 130gr CEB FB's this afternoon.

In sticking with my usual luck (or lack-there-of) in whitetail hunting, I didn't get to try either on a deer last year. I've always maintained I'd shoot an elephant before a good whitetail, so I'm hoping this fall I've better luck after accomplishing the first part this spring.... Hopefully...

I'd be packing 40 softs, 20 solids. Then I'd coerce/contribute to your friend with the .375 going to max weight allowable with 30 solids and the remainder softs. What bullet combos are you guys bringing?

While I haven't bought on yet, I won't say I haven't pondered it, or a .404J for that matter. I have been deterred from doing so in the presence of my current 375 H&H and 458 Lott because the funds I'd spend on such a rifle are going to be much better enjoyed on my next hunt.

Tobe, what charge and what velocity did you land at? I tested 350gr TSX and Woodleigh PP's for my first cape buffalo hunt in 2017 and had a tough time getting the 350 TSX's to group. I'll have to double check my notes later, but I believe I was using RL15 as the powder.
