Mike, Those Tally's fit right onto the existing 19mm dovetail on the receiver? I'm looking into a 1.5-5 Leupold VXIII for my .375 and these rings would be pretty nice for it!

Hello all, I'm currently looking into a good set of binoculars for general hunting use as well as to brough to Zimbabwe with me. I have numerous Leupold rifle scopes and love their optics. Any suggestions as to what power/FOV/size binoculars would be best for hunting in Africa?

I find the same issue with 500gr soft and solid Hornady rounds (DGX/DGS) Mostly a problem with the round coming up from the left side. Mine's heading out to AHR in January to have this rectified.

I booked July 2011 about a month ago, mostly to allow me the time to come up with the money to hunt cape buff AND tuskless cow ele on the same safari.

I've no experience with them, but I've seen a model at Cabela's which has hydraulic dampening to it, the Hyskore Dangerous Game. The description says it is good up to .416, not sure how it would handle your .500.

Well, I think you've sold me on the AHR package 2 for my rifle. Is the fiber optic standard in this package or did you request it? What was their turn around time like?

Thanks for the pics, Mike. My biggest qualm with my new rifle is the tiny, somewhat difficult to see, front sight post. The fiber optics look like they solve that issue. Does the 3-pos safety change out the entire back end of the bolt?? The rear of your bolt looks quite different than mine...

Thanks Jerome. Mike is actually who turned me onto Martin's company and the reason I booked with Martin. I'm rather excited and a bit on the apprehensive side (mostly about the travel) all at the same time. Well, I've got a good amount of time to get everything sorted out and get in shape for this!

Well, got the call from my gunshop today that my CZ AND my Weatherby were in! CZ 550 American Safari Magnum in .458 Lott and Weatherby Vanguard Synthetic in .300 Win Mag. The Weatherby is awaiting a Leupold VXIII 4.5-14x50 as soon as the rings and bases come in.

I am truly envious! I'll be starting out with tuskless cow elephant, cow cape buffalo, and AT LEAST tag an impala and warthog atop that. I'd love to make this a bi-yearly venture if possible.

I ordered the field grade walnut stock. I did verify with my smith that it is double crossbolts before I ordered it through him. Any benefits to having mercury recoil reducers put in? I'm not recoil shy by any means, but this is a whole new game to me.
