Great choice! I, however, would have chosen N6 or N8. But, that's my personal taste. Yours will be different. Good luck and please post pictures when finished.
A friend has an annual Wild Game Dinner, and this year we had Turkey Testicles. I didn't know Turkey had testicles, and I'll have to say that they are good. I liked the fried ones better. :ROFLMAO:
Brass has been almost impossible to find. I have a Ruger No.1, in 275 Rigby and have been looking all over with zero results. I did find some Hornady ammo, and figure I buy that and use the brass after I shoot the ammo. Good luck!
It was great meeting you and your son.
I have also met, @sureshot375, @TOBY458, and I open the door to my home to @Fatback and a couple of days @John the Electrician with his son. Great bunch of likeminded hunters and gun owners.
Good deal. BTW, I put exactly one of the scopes you mentioned (VX-3 1.5-5X20) on a Ruger RSM 416 Rigby, and I like a lot. This set up is heading to SA this Jun after Buffalo.
Fine individual to deal with. I hope one day to meet him personally. Congratulations on a beautiful rifle.
Now, the big question is, what scope are you going to put on? :ROFLMAO:
I have one, and mine came with a black hard as rock recoil pad, which I'm about to replace. Mine is also 416 Rigby and I'm taking it to South Africa this Jun.
Those of us who have such a wonderful wife will never win the lottery, since we already won with a wonderful wife. Congratulations, you are a blessed man! Well done Mrs. @CAustin. :A Clapping::A Clapping::A Clapping:
:A Clapping::A Clapping::A Clapping::A Clapping: This is beautiful, and the L goes right with my last name. :ROFLMAO: If you don't mind, I'm copying this.
This place!! I live in Warner Robins (40 min from Americus) and our Air Force base has a beautiful air museum, I’m sure your son will enjoy. Oh, and it’s free.
This is interesting, and something I had not seen before on Gunbroker.

Had the annual wild game dinner, and our host surprised us with this beauty to celebrate the birth of his first grandbaby. The main course was water Buffalo tomahawks :D
Yes they were some damages during shipping, and I had paid for insurance, which BTW it should have covered my trophies from departure to delivery, it's called door to door. I was in the Freight Forwarding business and know how the insurance works. The owner of Highveld never provided a...
Did you get a chance to read some of the issues with them? I would suggest going with someone else. Look at the picture of my impala, and this is something I can't fix without paying someone else. Total waste of $800.00. At the end of the day, it is your call if you want to risk it.
I have a Ruger RSM in 416 Rigby, and the recoil pad is hard as a rock. I was wondering if I replace the recoil pad if the rifle will lose any (if any) value among the Ruger fans? Not that I'm going to sell the rifle any time soon, but just in case one day I decide to part with this rifle. I'm...
@Philip Glass, do you mind elaborating a bit more. Which model do you use, did you install it yourself into the draw bolt hole, or had a gunsmith install. Thanks!
I had a horrible first experience with a "reputable" South African taxidermy. I wrote a report about it, and I've been very vocal about this experience. Some on this forum sided with the SA taxi, and most with me. I feel for those SA taxidermists who do good work, but I'll never get my stuff...
Here we are 2685 pages and 53,684 posts, or 53,685 us you count this post, and the world didn't end, and we are still discussing what started this thread 8 years ago. :S Beat Dead Horse::ROFLMAO:
Contact Game-4-Africa Safaris, they are sponsors here. I hunted with them on 2022, and I’m heading back this Jun. I didn’t hunt any small antelopes, but if they can, you will not be disappointed.
On my first safari, a young PH non-verbal was apparent that it took by surprise. I was not obviously happy with his reaction but brushed it off. I couldn't do much. Maybe it was that I paid him with Cashier's Checks and not cash, I don't know. My second safari, the PH owner, was very...
Man, I'll be in S. Africa at that time, or I would have jumped all over it. I would be great if you by any chance could take a Veteran to hunt Africa for the first time?
I hunted the Eastern Cape, and then the Kalahari, and the Under Armour boots I had didn't do well on the rocky mountains of the Eastern Cape. However, in the sandy soil of the Kalahari, they did well, and I attribute that to the flat soles of the boots, the bottom looked almost like the boots...
Hi Valie, could you please send me info as well. I would also like to know if there is a place you'd recommend to make replicas of the tusks. Thank you.
