@GAME 4 AFRICA SAFARIS is a class operation. My buddy and I both did a buffalo/kudu special, we both added several animals. Lodge, rooms, vehicles, guides, all top notch. I'm not one to go back to the same spot, but I do hope to return and hunt with Wik and the other guys!

My dad's kudu sold for 425.00 at auction last year. I believe there were around 30 mounts sold, I had siblings thinking they may fetch 50,000 to 60,000, I told them they would not sell for anywhere near that, they sold for a total of 13,860.00. Mounted animals are a tough sell sometimes.

Our mounts are very meaningful to us, I’d be anxious too. On a different note, your post reminded me that they have a black bear of mine that they are making into a rug. Good luck with your mounts!

My hunting buddy loads his 458 win mag with 350 grain Barnes TSX bullets, he took a cape buffalo with one shot. The recoil with that load is very tolerable.

I've taken several eland and one male lion with my .375H&H using Barnes TSX bullets. Perhaps if I were hunting lion again I would opt for Swift Aframes this time.

I've always sighted my .375H&H at 100 yards.

Each situation is different, but the thing I'd stress pretty heavily is to 'reload' as fast as you can. I've seen way too many videos of hunters admiring their shot rather than understanding the importance of a 2nd shot. Shot a buffalo last year that was by itself, I shot 2 more times before...

This is a good recommendation, when I hunted with Game 4 Africa, 2023, they had a buffalo, kudu and impala package for 10,000.00. I added extra animals, had a wonderful hunt!

You make a very good point, weight does matter, or at least to me it does. I want to carry the lightest rifle I can. My Kimber Mountain Ascent in .308, with a 4.5x14 Leupold scope weights 5lbs 15oz. That's an easy rig to carry around the bush!!

I've taken nearly 100 animals in Africa with my .308, a lot of which were blue wildebeests and zebras. For years I used Barnes 168 grain, then this last year I took 180 grain Swift Aframes, took an eland with one shot. Either of those ammo selections will do great, .308 works wonderfully well...

A lot of joy and excitement from a wonderful safari can be lost when it comes to figuring out the tips at the end of the hunt.

Mark, how do you like your Bell & Carlson stock? How does the weight compare between the two stocks? I have a CZ 416 Rigby and would like to buy a different stock.
