Fine :( You win . I just asked him. Yeah. He did have a .577 NE that he used for hunting ONE Aussie Water Buff .But the fact that he uses a Winchester M70 in .416 Rem Mag now clearly means that he prefers a bolt gun !
None ! I took 3 Aussie Water Buff with my .375 HH Mag Winchester M70 :D
The only DR l ever fired was my Aussie pal's Rigby .470 NE . And it doubled on me :( ! At that point l got enlightened ! Doubles are trouble !
( Hey, that rhymes :p )
But Mr. Rahman :(
Doubles are for snobs and movie hunters ! Take a Double .375 . After two shots , you're dry ! But with a good ZKK-602 in .375 HH Mag , you got 7 rounds to clean the mess ! :D
No real hunter uses doubles no more !
As you guys know , l'm writing a book called " A Hobby called Hunting " , for which l'm interviewing 3 professional hunters among whom is our dear forum member , Sergeant Kawshik Rahman ( who will be contributing to the chapter on Hunting in India in the good , ol days :D and modern hunting in...

But IvW, in my thread " Buckshot and leopard : fact or fiction ? " another member posted a video of leopards being hunted from a Jeep with semi auto shotguns and you had commented that the hunt was illegal because semi autos weren't allowed in Africa ?
PS : Do you ever use your poor man's Double...
Not funny , Joe ! :(
I had to trade 2 boxes of Kynamco .350 Rigby Magnum SP ammo for those 3 bloody .460 rounds and borrowing that gun . :( And l burnt a quarter tank of gas , driving to go pick it up !
Joe ,you couldn't have picked a worse time to rub it in my face :( . I just lost the biggest feral hog l've ever seen last week after shooting it with 00 Buck from my BRNO ZH- 301 ( the one the wife got me )
:( . Now , Dad's telling me that if l just used my .405 Win on it , it wouldn't have...
Foxi , don't discourage him !!!! :(
Do you have any idea how hard it was for me to get my hands on a .460 WBY
MAG ZKK-602 and three rounds , just so that Mr. Rahman's dream can come true ?
I had to post on five different online chat rooms and FB pages !! :(
Yeah.... It was HELL trying to find...
I'm not just saying this coz you're helping me write my book ( for free , l might add :) ) . 2k19 is almost over , and l can honestly tell you , Mr. K ...
You're the greatest contribution to AH forums of 2k19 :D
Now , back to guns ! The only way l see someone successfully making the .458 Win Mag...
Guys ,
I really need some information to put on my upcoming book . Does anyone here know when copper plated buckshot was first introduced ?
I was born in 1980 and remember seeing Federal copper plated 00 buck in about '89 in Texas gun stores.
Appreciate any help.
Hoss :)
Mr. Rahman , l always have been meaning to ask you a small question , but during our private interviews l somehow always end up forgetting it :( . So , I'll just ask here while l remember it :D
In many of your articles , you advise us to only use Doubles which don't have auto safeties . But...
Thanks , bro :) Yeah , he has a heart of gold and is a real stand up guy :D.
I just got out my Dad's EZ- Lap sharpener . With a nice can of cold Budweiser at the ready by my side , let's see how it goes ;)
Thanks , man :)
When he comes to the states , I'm gonna make his life long dream come true ....
Of getting to shoot a .460 WBY MAG :D .
The poor simple minded guy sadly doesn't realize that his dream will turn into a nightmare very soon ;)
Mr. Rahman has a lot of patience in dealing with people trying to make his look like a fraud repeatedly .
Well , l lack the patience of these older guys . So , I'm just gonna lay the truth out for every one to see.
This book , Heart of a Hunter is one the Last accounts of Shikar in India...
Good to see ya back on AH posting new stuff again , Mr. Rahman :) . Please don't stop writing :D
BTW , dad took his Bengal tiger with an '06 Enfield 1917 in '69 . He used FMJ army surplus armor piercing rounds and took it with one clean head shot :) . The spitzer bullets were 168 grainers .
I personally really find it awesome how two professionals from two different eras can set their issues aside and talk productively about the the sport we all treat passionately , hunting :D .
That's the beauty of AH forums :)
We're all United by our passion for the sport . We're learning so...
I was reading ALL the comments here again and l picked up one HUGE inconsistency ( But then I've been told l jump to conclusions too soon :p :( ) made by some one. They claim to :
#1 Use a .375 HH Magnum Browning rifle for their government appointed man eater hunts in modern India .
#2 Own 4...
No problem , man :)
This guy ( Mr. Rahman ) was my grandpa's PH 60 years ago . If someone tries to frame him because of a stupid mistake l made , then It's my duty to stand up for him . I might not be the most polite guy here and yeah , some times my posts can be a little childish and anger...
Oh boy . I have some public explaining to do . Firstly , Mr. Rahman has enough of his personal pictures posted on these forums for us to know he's the real deal . Secondly , it's my stupid fault that l made Mr . Rahman sign the contract with me for my book so that l can use some of his pictures...
It was my suggestion , bro :) 46 of Mr. Rahman's personal photographs , including his 1995 leopard are with me . I am using them for my upcoming book , so l told him to use his other personal photographs here and some taken from people who gave him permission :) .
But Bro , you gotta admit that a guy strong enough to use 3 inch shells is more masculine and manly than a guy using 2 3/4 inch shells :( ? 3 inch shells are a godsend for high flying geese :D
I'm never going back to 2 3/4 inch shells again :D
But Mr. Rahman :( I was reading a Magazine the other day . The only people still using the 2 3/4 inch shell are guys too weak to handle a 3 inch Magnum shell ... And women ;)
Hey , Mr. Rahman ...
I recently had my BRNO ZH 301 get it's chambers beefed up to accept 3 inch shells :D
Why don't you do the same with your Beretta 12 gauge ? It will make it a manly gun ! :D
Well .... If they're really that good then why don't more people use them for DG ? ;)
Also , why did the RAB forces in Bangladesh replace their M700s for sniping with Blaser R93s , huh ? Are you saying they downgraded ? ;)
A Remington M700 ?!
Mr. Rahman , no offense , but those guns suck big time ! :( They have a nasty reputation for going off on their own :(
You guys were really lucky that the gun didn't accidentally go off and hit a tracker or coolie or something :(
And Remington M700s jam like crazy
He killed 'em with # 7 1/2 birdshot ! It was a charging lioness :D
I wonder what he would think of you guys not being able to stop leopards with 0 buck shot ;).
BTW a lion weighs around 500 to 550 pounds :)
Thanks for giving me and gramps tribute , Mr. Rahman :D . I got that Weatherby Mark V ready for ya ;)
BTW , just finished reading my latest Peter Capstick novel . Now that guy was a REAL man :p He killed lions using bird shot to stop charges. You and Mr. Karim could really learn a thing or...
