PS Mark. I shot a small male the following year in Zimbabwe but I found the same thing as you did with small males and females because as I learned later, that in many areas of Zimbabwe, many of these small farms are getting a quota, so they are killing any male that comes on bait.
I saved up...
Mark same here. I also took a beautiful Mountain Zebra in those rugged mountains; I shot him from the top of one of those koppies 3 times at just over 400 yards with my 7mmRemag. It was one of my most memorable hunts. Besides the Leopard and the drinking it was an incredible time.
Besides the...
First of all GOOD FOR YOU WITH THAT BEAUTIFUL LEOPARD!! Good thing that you found a kill that the leopard made himself so he felt comfortable returning to it. That's a nice big mature one
Beautiful Kudo too!
Yes exact same thing with drinking by 11 and then they would sleep until 3. I was...
Yes an incredible place and hunt.
Now that I know better, he did screw me. When I planned the hunt I told him that I first and foremost wanted to kill a leopard and he told me 100% that we would get me one
I was there for 2 weeks
I went with 2 other guys and we shot a lot of plainsgame, and I...
I do realize that this thread is 10 years old now, but I am wondering if any of you knows whatever became of Madelaine, the DeSousa family, and Christies beautiful farm and business?
I hunted there back in 2005 and was so sad to hear the tragic news
What a beautiful place and memories!
Ok my friend, so after being a police officer who was present at Ground Zero on Sept 11th, 2001, I never thought that I would be buying a book written by a man named "Osama" so I guess that times have changed:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I just ordered your book and I look forward to reading it!
All the...
You make a very good point. I have seen many pictures of guys holding huge Leopards with very little strain. My Leopard was 142lbs and after a few minutes I could hardly hold it, and I am 6'1" 185lbs and very fit
You will pay 2-3 grand for a really nice blank, let alone the work which would cost at LEAST 5 grand for the but stock alone, never mind making a foregrip
As I said earlier, that Blaser in 470 is my dream rifle and I would buy it in a second if I could afford it
"Great Deal" or not, 10Gs is ALOT of money to most people, myself included
I am a lefty and this is my dream rifle...caliber and all, to kill a buffalo and tuskless with
I wish that I could buy it but unfortunately it's too much for my budget
I would like to have several made from my pictures over the years, but I am reluctant to send pics of my trophies because of all the anti-hunting BS of today, so I am wondering if any of you know of a place who caters to hunters?
Thank You!
In your second paragraph you stated, "My Client" so am I correct to assume that you are a booking agent? And if you are, you sent a client with a firearm to Africa without knowing the Airlines policy?
I flew Ethiopian 7 or 8 times so far with a firearm and I NEVER had a single problem. My...
I remember reading a post a few years ago on another hunting website and was shocked to read the vulgar foul language that Eric used when going back and forth with another member
Best of my recollection, it wasn't even just regular curse words, but really foul stuff
I remember thinking that I...
I think that the OBL poster is a nice touch
I wouldn't do the Obama display, but I don't understand your outrage either....it's a joke
I don't want to look at Obama any more than I have to
lol thanks for that my friend!! A lot of what we are saying is misinterpreted because of the written word....if we were all face to face I bet that we would all get along.
I never take myself too seriously, so I love your response!
Take Care!
2 years ago while sitting in my Leopard blind in Zambia, I had, "Brand new key" going through my mind, so everytime I hear that song it reminds me of that special day
I agree, and I will add that Boddington himself should have known better as well
I bet that the PH was anxious to get a good video circulated AND the endorsement of the good colonel...or whatever he is now
Ralph, I would expect a Marine to defend another Marine to the death.
I said a lot about him here, and I did call a few of his actions and bankruptcy "shady"
That said, I said all that I have to say so I won't comment any further
And as I said before, just giving you all my 2 Cents
And that is exactly my point...how does he pay for all of those hunts on a writers salary...especially with a limited consumer base as African hunters?
He stated one time that he has been to Africa alone more than 120 times and these aren't South African cull hunts, they are big dollar big five...
I believe in everything you just said. I don't blame the daughter for trying to do the right thing, and YES I agree as well that an employee of the PH or outfitter is THEIR RESPONSIBILITY .
That said I do believe that morally, Boddington (or anyone) needs to do something to make it right...
