I have a Tanaka for about 16 years and that saw is a beast and never fails me. Good cutting chain makes a good saw. Cutting wood can be therapeutic at times.

I like the Nosler Accubond 210 in a 300 mag load. My setup just seems a little more consistent with that combination. I like a little more weight for African game. Not a big difference under 300 yards. Most my African shots 75-200 yards.

My old 270 tang safety model, early 70s, is very picky on ammo type and if shot more than a handful of times without a total cooldown starts to wander quite a bit. If I had to build one up my personal choice is a Remington 700 donor action vs a Ruger to start.

I would not want to be exposed in a ladder or lock on type set up. The monkeys will pick you off and scream all the way home. Most NA animals don’t usually look up but not sure on plains game since there are more options for them to get eaten.

Remington 700 Sendero, 300 RUM, 180 grain bonded bullet, about 175 yards off short sticks sitting, about 3’ in length. I like the short sticks in country where you can use them. Sit down, lock in that right elbow, makes a solid platform.
