I replaced the trigger spring and fitted a red pachmyar recoil pad to my 35 Whelen African. Made it much better. Planning on getting the Alaska Arms extended floor plate too. Shoots excellent too with Hornady Superperformance. Have some Barnes that I have not tried yet.

I would do the most "classic" style safari I could and in the most remote territory possible (after crying with joy for the sudden windfall of money). Of course, it would be a mixed bag dangerous and plains game with Buff at the top and a croc thrown it (I want the skull!).

Spent alot of time at their booth both times I went to DSC and they were extremely accommodating to someone who can't afford to buy one of their guns. So I cannot speak directly about the guns other than handling them, but the chaps there are top notch.

The MRC rifle could fill the mid ground spot like the Caprivi did. In that $2-4k range.

I know these will be optimized for scopes, but I wish they would put more traditional express sights on their potential big bore models. Maybe sell some actions too.

My one uncle has been hunting with a Remington 700 in 35 Whelen since the 70s. He does not reload, but did keep all the brass. I will hit him up and start loading.

Good information. I just bought one of these and a couple boxes of factory ammo to try. Rifle gets in tomorrow. Thinking about putting my Leupold VX3HD 2-8 on it for now and using it for deer hunting this fall.

Doctari does not like the Hawkeye African. Too light for caliber in the 416. He did like the Ruger RSM though.

I bought 2 of the 300 h&h brass for a rifle I don't even own yet....hornady and remington both told me they will not make brass and/or produce ammunition for itm

If I didn't have the hots for a 300 H&H right now, I would be all over this!

I am really leaning that way, for the CZ action from Wayne that is. I could be waiting forever for a rifle to pop up again. I figure I can build as I have funds, buy the action, refund my account, buy a barrel, and so forth. I did ask Wayne about those actions, and he recommended a Noah Hathorne...

Contemplating this...Does anyone have a CZ550 in 300 H&H (or 300 win mag) like this that they would be willing to part with? I don't know what the cost would be to buy one now, may be too rich for my blood. Worth a shot though...

Old thread revival! I was contemplating buying a CZ action from Wayne at AHR, then a barrel from somewhere, and then a custom stock. Finally, I would have it all put together by some gunsmith. Wayne recommended a fellow in Montana. Not all at once because I can't afford that haha. Am I crazy?

Between red and yellow was my thought, so I went with red. You should make this a recurring thread with different angles and animals!
