Have any of you used a muzzloader to hunt South Africa? How did you get powder and caps over there?

I have been told by one outfitter that even as an international hunter you don't need a PH while bow hunting. This outfitter has CAE properties in limpopo. Is this true?

Hunting plains game mostly from blinds I would guess t spot and stalk is a possibility.

Unfortunately at my age and build I just cant draw much over 55 lbs so I have to adapt to that.

How do you know your bow will shoot these type of arrows?

I am making my first trip to Africa bow hunting. My whitetail set up is a bowtech 101st airborne at 53 lbs at 28 inch draw. I am shooting 360 gr 500 spine arrows including the 100 gr stinger broadhead at 255 fps. Have been doing a lot of reading on this forum and watching a lot of videos...

For all those of you that have replied to this thread, who did you hunt with when you saw blesbuk and heartebeest?

Ugh. Not the story I am getting from my chosen PH. I have chosen this PH because he is highly regarded and I am good friends with his American contact. Maybe he just does not have a lot of those animals?

With regards to the new checked bags requirement listed above you have not had any issues with this bag at checkin?

Is there any new info on this topic as it relates to ATL? Can you avoid this hassle by packing your archery equipment in a well padded rolling duffle with all your clothes? Are they just looking for obvious bow or gun cases?
