Hi i bough a 1500 howa 300 win mag a year ago. Any advice on a good starting loads and bullets. Was told that noslers accubond 180gr not doing bad, and s365 any advice?

I've found the 180 grain Barnes TTSX (or TSX) to be very accurate and the Nosler Accubond just as much so. Powders I've used for years are IMR4831 and RL22, but I recently switched to RL16 and recommend it over those because it takes a smaller charge. You struggle with compressed loads with the .300 Win Mag and 180 grain bullets. There may not be anything wrong with them, but I try to stay away from them.

In my Vanguard with 24 inch barrel, 70.5 grains of RL16 produces 3070 fps which is the current factory velocity (.300 Win Mag loads have been reduced from the original 1958 velocities).

Also in my rifle, the 3070 fps factory duplication load is matched by

74.0 grains of IMR4831
74.3 grains of RL22

HI all, here is a Short update on our America trip, I currently in Houston and have 2 more meetings here before movings North toward Oklahoma, Missouri and Iowa, and from there I will head to Colorado and Idaho,I have been met with great hospitality and friendship, and have met several new and old clients and we are going to book the rest of 2025 season quick and have several dates booked for 2026!
That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
